Yep, would imagine Nova isn't the biggest fan of this signing.Nameless wrote:Agreed that I would want Nova to be given the chanceNotts Royal wrote:Personally would prefer us to give Nova a decent run of games there
What do you base this on? Just because it's an Expensive (by Reading's standards) transfer?2 world wars, 1 world cup wrote:Aluko 2.0. Transfer fee is ludicrous if true.
It's like groundhog day being a supporter sometimes.
Useful if FFP is still tight.Danny Nedelko wrote:... has got some skills to pay some bills.
Never even heard of him tbh.Tilehurstsouthbank wrote:What do you base this on? Just because it's an Expensive (by Reading's standards) transfer?2 world wars, 1 world cup wrote:Aluko 2.0. Transfer fee is ludicrous if true.

Have you seen him play?
Pros:
Good first touch
two footed
decent goal scoring record at this level
Can play as a target man/focal point
The only negative I've been able to find is that he sometimes struggles to get motivated but with a Portuguese manager and someone in José who seems to be a very good man-manager I suggest this won't really be an issue.
How can your point stand if you've never heard of him?2 world wars, 1 world cup wrote:Never even heard of him tbh.Tilehurstsouthbank wrote:What do you base this on? But my point stands.
Aluko is more an outlier and not a particularly useful metric.2 world wars, 1 world cup wrote:Aluko 2.0. Transfer fee is ludicrous if true.

Because he's basically like Aluko 2.0. Transfer fee is ludicrous if true.Tilehurstsouthbank wrote:How can your point stand if you've never heard of him?2 world wars, 1 world cup wrote:Never even heard of him tbh.Tilehurstsouthbank wrote:

Isn’t version 2.0 usually an upgraded version of 1.0 ? Some enhanced functionality, defects fixed etc etcHound wrote:In what ways is he like Aluko 2.0?
I just don't see him as a good lone striker leading the line. His good performances were as one of the wide forwards in a 4-3-3 under Clement. We play differently now.Hound wrote:Baldock's always looks reasonable to me. The main issue with him was the stupid recurring injuries, inevitably just as we needed him

I'm not going to take this groundhog day 'joke' too far or I'll end up ruining the thread, which to be I do even when I'm trying to be serious (!).
Someone a few pages back mentioned groundhog day so I copied an pasted. I've never heard of the guy, have no idea what the original poster meant by Aluko 2.0 either. No-one can be as big a flop as Aluko was surely.
