I still don't understand why he was discussing personal terms if it's a loan?

The deal's been dragging since it started. McDermott wanted him before TSI, obviously couldn't get him and now has the funds to do so but i can imagine Roberts was aware of the interest but has taken his time to dwell over it. You'll have to ask Roberts himself why the deal is taking a while. Surprised about this as heard that guy on Sat, didn't hear it after 7 though so not sure i heard Roberts comment but didn't think too much of it all at the time. RoyalJames' point makes sense to me as i'm sure McD has said in the past that he only likes doing loans if they are with a view to being made permanent. Roberts was on MOTD2 weekend before last and he was specifically asked about his situation, didn't suggest he was going anywhere at all (though he wasn't asked) but did make it clear he wanted his future sorted out. From Roberts point of view this could be his last contract/transfer and so there's probably plenty of considerations on his part.
