Standing and singing at Wembley

When we played at Wembley my experience is that you end up with some people wanting to stand up and sing, some people who want to just sit and watch the game, others who are too tense to get involved in anything like that and have a go at the bloke in front standing up and blocking their view.

Then some fella in a jester hat with a flag over his shoulders turning round and shouting at everyone to sing up and calling everyone plastics and someone having a go at them.

It's a mare basically, impossible to please everyone.

I went to the new Wembley with Exter where the singing was poor, then a season later fans/club directed singers to certain blocks and it worked a treat. Same as St. pauli, (i was a student there)

We should definitely do this. Get involved HobNob/STAR.

I wouldn't get your hopes up - IMO reasonably priced tickets (relatively) combined with the word going out about 131 - 135 being the "singing blocks" will mean come Friday evening the centre lower tier blocks will be sold out.

I'm waiting for Saturday too, and fear all the tickets there might be gone by then. I really hope, without meaning to sound like a dick, that only people who are really going to make a noise go there so that we have at least one area which is really up for it.

The simple fact is that some people want to make as lot of noise as possible, whilst others don't.

This isn't going to be perfect by any means, but by giving people an idea of where the noise is hopefully going to be concentrated then it's fair to everyone - people who want to sing and people who don't.

And yes, I hope the whole half of Wembley will be a sea of noise, and that everyone joins in - but there are a lot of people who are older and/or don't come to a lot of matches so they may not want to sing or certainly won't know the words to songs.

It's worked for other clubs, so why not here?

(PS the loudest set of supporters I've ever heard at Wembley were Brum this year when they won the League Cup. Let's try and beat them!)

We didn't have all this twatter and facegimp when I went to Wembley with us in 1995 and the atmosphere was amazing, until well, you know. Hairs on the neck moments singing "Super Reading..." tears to the eyes stiuff that day, until well, you know, real reasons for tears in the eyes.

Same with the Simod Cup Final. I was sat nearer the luton end but the noise from the Reading end was awesome. Everyone will get involved so don't worry.
