Baker would be one of the best players in the championship.Sutekh wrote:I've never heard of a player being loaned for a period longer than a season, is that actually possible? Could it be a permanent deal instead?
Sounds like a class signing and Lewis is apparently 22 so would be of an age where you'd hope he'd be troubling first team squads if he was going to make it professionally.
And given he's actually a couple of months older than John Swift my expectation for him - should this rumour actually happen - would be to be challenge for the first team at Reading, not be loaned out again.
Reminds me of Harper/Sidwell renewing their Arsenal youth partnership at Reading....
I think Andreas Christensen is the most recent famous example of a 2 year loan deal.genome wrote:TevezSutekh wrote:I've never heard of a player being loaned for a period longer than a season, is that actually possible?
Cracking player. Two footed. Takes penalties and free kicks with either foot.CountryRoyal wrote:Baker would be one of the best players in the championship.Sutekh wrote:I've never heard of a player being loaned for a period longer than a season, is that actually possible? Probably (quite rightly) thinks he needs a protracted period of time with the same group of players, preferably with the same manager to improve or impress.genome wrote:Chelsea journalist:

He (Baker) wants a two year loan spell
Probably he also thinks he'd look good in hoops ...NewCorkSeth wrote:Probably (quite rightly) thinks he needs a protracted period of time with the same group of players, preferably with the same manager to improve or impress.genome wrote:Chelsea journalist:

James Rodriguez has just been loaned to Bayern for two seasons.genome wrote:TevezSutekh wrote:I've never heard of a player being loaned for a period longer than a season, is that actually possible?
See I'm just not convinced how much I buy this whole "once word got out" kind of stuff, no disrespect to yourself at all WR.windermereROYAL wrote:Sure as hell it will alert other clubs if they hear he`s available. I notice big interest in Darlow too once the word got out.

"If we get Lewis Baker in he's a very technical player and that's what our midfield needs."
