Tell you what, you list the failures first and then someone else can list the successes and we'll see which list is longer.

Obviously only for half a season and not an "up and comer" but Glenn Murray was pretty successful while he was here.

Luke Chadwick was also decent when he came on loan from Man Utd.

I would say Ake and Chalobah were pretty successful, we’re Watford in the PL when we borrowed Vydra ?

Dunno, but not really a youth player or up and come. Quite a few of the loan failures have been his ilk though.

Didn't Ake play 5 games and get MOTM in 3 of them?

I remember being distinctly unimpressed, but could just be me.

Better than decent. I remember thinking he was so much better than the rest of our players that it was hilarious.

Now lives round my way and is involved in local youth park football.

Total bellend according to the mum who knows him via her son's team.

We signed Khumalo and Afobe during 11/12, Khumalo was show the door as soon as he went through and Afobe just didn’t have much chance to show what he could do imo especially with the form Noel Hunt, Adam Le Fondre and Jason Roberts were in.

ffs you really are a bunch of melts, please point to where I said all of the loans were failures :| i said if they are successful when they leave it leaves a gaping hole to fill. This is the more worrying part. not a saleable asset, so its not like swift going the hole can be plugged by his transfer fee and it has blocked our youngsters of game time.

You said they rarely work out which didn't take long to be proven wrong. Fact is, Premier League clubs hoover up the top talent and many other clubs benefit greatly from Premier League loans, we'd be shooting ourselves in the foot for not even exploring what players might be available to us.

Harsh on Baradji. Provided one of the most memorable assists in the clubs recent history.

There's some highly suspicious blanket approach to each loanee's purpose there. And Ake has already been challenged as a meh, let alone a failure.

Even so that's 40% success rate. Not what I'd call rare.

So was Baker so add Chadwick into the success list or take Baker out.
