I'd rather not be too controversial but a 60% win rate at Rangers is not really anything to write home about
I was going to say, 11 defeats in 35 games at Rangers is fcuking abysmal.
Yes, but then think he was there in the season that Rangers had just got back the the PL so possibly weren’t “all that” squad wise. Certainly the manager they had before Murty was a complete failure and he managed to turn what he had right round and into some semblance of something half decent.

I don't think that's quite right
Murty took the second season back after they'd finished third the previous season
To say he turned it right round is a bit of a Trussism

Notwithstanding that even in the 4th tier, Rangers still had a budget pretty much all of Scotland could only dream of.

I may be taking that out of context but Murty was only ever managing them in the SPL

My point was that even when they were in the 4th tier, they were still the second best funded team in Scotand so the argument that they were "feeling their way back" is a massive red herring. Murty took over in their 2nd season back in the SPL and they'd qualified for Europe the previous season (admittedly getting knocked out by a team from Luxembourg).

I seem to remember the Rangers fans not being particularly impressed with him. Talked a good game but tactically limited.

Only mentioned because they were popular players who've gone into management, not because they're good choices for manager.

Kerr's managerial CV makes Gomes' look impressive. Albeit he's more successful.

Pretty easy to win at Rangers tho isn’t it.

Would fit right in with us then!

In all seriousness though I wouldn't mind Murty if we were to go down, I think we could do worse and I think he would be the sort of manager that would be an advocate for building a younger, more exciting side, especially given his coaching/managing experience thus far (albeit fairly limited).

Decent shout that, knows the lower leagues well so could do a lot worse and Orient are at least entertaining to watch. Certainly better than pointless entities like Pauno or Gomes.

Noel Hunt was his assistant at Swindon and Donny.

Current manager of Hibs. Doubt he’d drop out of the Scottish Prem for league 1 or we’d pay for the compo.

Could be down here for loads of reasons.

His time at Hibs has hardly been a resounding success.

The majority of Hibs fans would offer to drive him here. They think he's a bit emperor's new clothes. Talks a good game but ultimately a bit clueless.

Wellens is the bookies favourite closely followed by John O'Shea.

Two promotions and the EFL Trophy is not at all bad. And he seems a ruthless squad builder, likes to attack. What’s not to like?
