Ryan Mason offered a role in Ange Postecoglou's backroom staff
https://www.standard.co.uk/sport/footba ... 86142.html
Spurs will not cut Mason loose and are set to offer him a role after discussions with Postecoglou, but it remains to be seen if the former England midfielder would rather cut his teeth elsewhere.

Well the Chronicle stuck their neck out about 2 - 3 weeks ago and said we’d have a new manager within 2 weeks so that was bollox.
I can’t see Wilder joining now so god knows who we’ll end up with. I’ll be happy with Jones, but I can’t help thinking it will be someone completely unexpected and a few days before the season starts.

Until Wilder is appointed elsewhere, or we appoint someone else, I refuse to give up hope.

Longer it goes on, feels more and more like we'll end up with Noel Hunt again

The twitter comments are a cauldron of over-reactions every time the club tweets something that isn't a manager appointment.

The longer we go without a manager (and backroom staff, and players) the more money we save as we're not paying their wages

And the more the club are losing out in a cohesive plan in recruitment and season ticket sales (though, given Reading's recent record, when a manager is finally appointed odds on it'll kill both elements stone dead).

May as well pop this in here. Alan Nixon responding to a mate on Twitter.
"Reading have money for next season. Decent money."
"Waiting on a decision from Wilder ... but that's been the way for well over a week."

The only way we get Hunt is if we'd already appointed him at the end of the season.
There's a ridiculous amount of impatience and handwringing on display.

Bollox. We have Bowen and Carey et al. Managers are rarely heavily involved in signings these days.

But given the club is a fecking shambles the sooner someone comes in the better. It’s a short turn around this season with the World Cup. 3 weeks to pre season training and 4 weeks the season start’s. Not long to look for players and implement a style of play.
