Rumour has it that Coventry Citys star forward Michael 'mosquito' Mifsud will sign for Reading in January
Tranmere Rovers will sign Robbie Fowler in January window.
We can't sell Robbie - he's not played a game for us yet!

No-ones remarked on the rubbish on this site recently, so here's today's highlights.....
I have heard from a very reliable source that Sunderland are going to make a number of changes over the next two transfer periods.
Ins:
Stephen Hunt (Reading) £3.5 million
Robbie Savage (Blackburn) £1.5 million
Johnathon Evans (Man United) £4 million
Danny Simpson (Man United) £3 million
James Beattie Sheff United) £4.5 million
Outs:
Kenywne Jones (Chelsea) £7 million
Nosworthy (Watford) £1 million
Halford (Colchester) Loan
Lassana Diarra is ready to sign for the Hammers in the window, he is a solid strong midfielder who will fill the place of Mullins (Reading) and Quashie (Wolves) in the January window.
Sunderland will sign Leroy Lita on a £4 million deal which could rise to £6 million. Lita has not featured for Reading in the last eight games and is said to be desperate for first team footall.
Man Utd..... After the completion of the squad expect some young players to go out on loan to Premier League clubs for the season in the Summer:
....
Eagles – Charlton/Watford/Reading

Given our perilous position, isn't it time we signed Quashie?

All would be decent signings in the Championship.

Football Rumours dribble -

Roy Keane will look to the relegated teams for new players, along with his former clubs United and Celtic. Targets include, Evans, Simpson, Campbell, O'Shea, Fletcher, McGeady, Balde, Doyle, Kitson, Hunt, Jimmy Bullard and an ambitious bid for Steve Sidwell

Extremely assumptive !

Keane is only stating the obvious (if he said it) - whoever stays up will look at the players of the three relegated teams and see who is worth buying.

If Derby, Fulham and Birmingham go down there really are not many players who are likely to be offered the chance of staying in the PL.

If we go down, however, I could see us losing at least 5 or 6 players. That to me says we have the better squad.

I would think Fulham are the most ripe for plucking from the bottom sides

Kitson, Hunt, Doyle, Shorey, Rosenior, Lita, Matejovsky aswell perhaps, would all probably look for a move to a Premiership club, Fae will probably go back to France.

Some of the dead wood like Oster, Brown and Halls may go aswell. If we go down the squad would have to be nearly completely rebuilt IMHO.

The Gunnarsson's, Oster's would be little loss to us. If we stay up they should certainly go, maybe even if we're relegated.

The three that would almost certainly go are Hunt, Doyle and Shorey. Kitson maybe, depends on his long term fitness but he certainly is more than capable at this level.

The Rosenior's, Ingimarsson's, Cisse's, Convey's.... they're unlikely to go and we would actually maintain a very strong squad for next season.

Also anyone leaving the football club will only go if and when we receive a suitable fee. No one is leaving just because they want out, it has to be good for us as well.

And with that in mind, we're no longer looked upon as 'little Reading'. Players of very good quality that we used to miss out on will be interested in a move to Reading.

Reaching the Premiership has been great for the club in so many ways!

Thanks for that witty retort.

I would fully expect Doyle, Kitson, Lita, Hunt and Shorey to be offered the chance to stay in the PL. Fae will almost certainly go back to France as I doubt he will be prepared to play in the championship. Several others will leave as their contacts will not be renewed.

They're all under contract and will obly leave if the football club so wish. That many players going out would destroy any chance we have of an instant return to the Pr£mier Leagu£. Would we find 6-7 quality players as replacements? No.

I agree Doyle, Shorey and Hunt would go, and I expect them to also, but the rest? We'd have to have silly offers for to let them go.
