Tomasz Cywka will not be moving back to Poland, instead, he will remain in England.

The 22-year old midfielder is set to leave Derby County and join fellow Championship side Reading FC in an undisclosed deal.

Cywka was close to signing a contract with Polish side Slask Wroclaw. He also had interests from Lech Poznan and Lechia Gdasnk. However, Cywka decided he wants to remain in England, and help Reading fight for promotion to the Premiership.

Cywka arrived in Poland last Thursday. On Friday, he underwent medical tests with Slask Wroclaw and later that day, he met with Slask's President Piotr Wasniewski.

"When I was sitting in his office (Slask's President), my phone rang. I did not pick it up, but later I read my agent's message and he wrote that Reading submitted an offer for me. I ask the (Slask) President for some time to think everything over and I made few phone calls," Cywka said. "Finally, I decided that I want to play for Reading, and Slask understood my decision. They even helped me book a flight ticket back to England and drove me to the airport."

So Cywka's rain at Derby will come to an end. He has made 47 appearances for the Rams and scored five goals since he signed on a free transfer from Wigan Athletic in the summer of 2010.

Reading currently sit 8th in the English Championship. They are only one point away from the League Championship Playoffs.

I haven't a foggiest who he is other than he played for Derby. Seems like a bargain basement style signing...

Don't know anything about him, but his wiki page isn't too promising.

Of Cywka, Clough said "He's an extremely inexperienced and not very bright footballer... he can go back to Wigan or wherever he came from - I'm not really bothered - until he learns the game."

After a succession of poor performances and losing his place in the first team, Cywka was told by Derby manager Nigel Clough in January 2012 that he was free to leave the club on a free transfer

Always liked him when I've seen him play. Small, quick, and tricky, worse players out there.

Clough seems to tear a strip off of the lad in every press conference after he plays.

Wouldn't imagine there is anything in this, if he isn't good enough to make an impression for them then I doubt he is good enough for us.

Was just abouts to say he scored the second goal when they played us down here. Quick and very good on the ball and doesn't appear to be afraid to take players on, which is a plus. He can also play in the centre of midfield.

Sounds like we are going to see four or five new faces in the squad by the time the January window closes.

Is Cywka polish for 'rain god'? No wonder Clough didn't like him - got sick of playing in torrential rain ...

FTR the Derby fans really like Cywka and think Clough has been a bit of a bellend on this particular issue.

Always thought he was a decent player, proper dickheadish of Clough to rip him apart in public which can't have helped him. Would be a good signing.

One of those who needs an arm round the shoulder, certainly talented, reckon McD could work his magic on him.

From what I have heard Clough say, it seems a perfect for Brian to take him under his wing and nurture the talent out of him

Good player whenever I've seen him, good feet and creative. Would work well in a five man midfield with our wingers and when I saw he was available I did think that he wouldn't be a bad signing and a slightly different option to what we currently have.

When he scores can we all act like utter dicks and do the Poznan?

Given the extensive quote and situation above it would suggest this is highly likely to happen... well then watch this space. Wonder how much the deal would cost Reading?

How can there be anything to it when it says we've agreed a fee, yet Clough publicly said he was free to leave on a free
