Apparently we are interested in taking him on loan from Chelsea for the season.

Would be amazed if we pull that one off.

I just cant see it happening. Hes one of the hottest youth products in the premier league right now.

Also wouldn't Frank send him to Derby if anywhere?

That would depend on a) Derby wanting him and b) it being considered the right fit for him and c) how much sway the 1st team manager has on loan decisions beyond he can go on loan - there is normally a whole department responsible for placing and monitoring loan players.

A) Everyone should want him
B) Its their managers former club who should be pushing for top 6 under and incredible manager. That sounds like a better fit than us.
C) Probably minimal sway to be honest. But he could ask the player himself to choose Derby. I imagine a young player hoping to impress a new manager would probably listen to that kind of advice.

Zero chance I’d have thought, despite it potentially being a good move for him (local, will play a lot, responsibility etc - bit like James for Wigan last year)

Good player though and sure will get plenty of offers

If Chelsea have a connection with Derby, which Prem clubs do Reading have links with? There appears to be a goalkeeping link to Arsenal.

Clement never appeared to bring in players from his old clubs, not Gourlay. And are we likely to get Leicester players as Rodgers was once our manager?

Whichever clubs Joorabchian and his agency have contacts with.

None. But I imagine over the recent years we've had more Chelsea players on loan than any other.

Arsenal would have made sense considering McDermott was their chief scout before coming back the second time and they have Bibbo.

They just bought ScuMings and Konsa for a combined 30 million. I doubt they can squeeze another CB in.

Very sceptical about these ‘connections’. Last year we had 3 players with Chelsea backgrounds playing for us and one of our ex Academy players there but wouldn’t imagine that is anything formal. We have an ex coach managing Wimbledon, an ex loan player there and a player on loan, we have several ex players at Exeter. Football is a small, world and you are bound to get times when a few players move between clubs but it’s just coincidence. Lampard won’t have any interest in sending players to a club he very briefly managed, Derby will now mean nothing to him.

Ampadu is a midfielder isn't he?

Anyway, been confirmed by Lampard he is going somewhere - would be very surprised if it's us.

This could happen. We had Baker on loan last season who progressed better with us than at his previous loan clubs. Maybe Chelsea will consider us a good environment for their talented youth players development. He would certainly be one of the first names on the team sheet every week.

Derby can't have ALL the Chelsea loan players so we might be in with a shout.
A good player in the Nathan Ake mould who would be an improvement on what we have got.
Zip, we need to up our complement of Welsh players with Edwards and Gunter no longer around.

With JT at Villa I see no chance of this happening. However, you’d think that he’d get more games for us than he would for Villa.

I would still prefer Baker and Miazga tbh.

Yeah, but of the two, we had the better manager at the start of last season.
At that time, Fat Frank was destined to get found out and fall flat on his face.

Well he did nothing more than what Derby always do, no?

I’d imagine Vitesse would have something to say about that.

Or did you mean we’ve had more loanees from Chelsea than any other club? That’s a decent shout tbf. Bertrand, Chalobah, Ake, Miazga, Baker, Hector, Piazon. Trying to think if there are others.
