No

In a heartbeat.
Categorically the best midfielder to have ever played for us.

was released months ago Genome - if we wanted him, and he wanted to come back, I expect he'd already be training with us

No, plus he'd want too much money.
What is it with wanting old players back?

Sidwell? Sigurdsson?
I'd take him if he was willing to take a dramatic cut in wages

What the actual oxf*rd?
Let me real off a few (not sure how long you've been watching) who are better:
Caskey
Sidwell
Harper
Osbourne
Brebner
Gooding
And those are just the ones I can think of right now. Williams time with us can be categorised thusly: 75% of his time with us bang average and 25% very good.

It's like they've never read a John Smith post before.

Ordinarily I'd say he got me hook, line, sinker & copy of Angling Times, but this is John Smith we're talking about...

Wages and injury record are the issue I think.
But I was generally a big fan of him while he was here. A fit and firing Williams alongside Rinomhota would be excellent IMO.

Depends on his wage demands. If it was a very low basic wage with bonuses if he stays fit then fine. He can still probably command a decent enough salary elsewhere though, can see him going to the MLS ot back to Germany.

It's absolutely true that what we need most right now is a midfielder who can pick up the ball outside our D and dribble the length of the pitch, ignoring better placed team mates, only to either blast 20 yards over or walk into a tackle 90% of the time.
Wages and fitness could be a problem.
But if fit I'd prefer him to Adam, Swift, Holsgrove or East right now. I'd prefer looking at Tish to all of them.

You forgot ‘and appeal in vain for a foul’
I liked him but I think there are a lot of better options out there

I liked him too, and I think in the right set up he could be very good. It's just that wasn't really the set up we had or were trying to have. And the ship has sailed. He's a couple of years and injuries older.

Agreed; and.. (going back in time)
Bowman
Hurlock
Sanchez
Although a different game then; all dominant and in the case of Hurlock... brief and intimidating
Gylfi would definitely be welcome and I think he has proven (during his time with us and certainly after leaving us) to be the best we’ve ever had.
