One more in.

I’m told that one more max, a loan. and then we’ll only react if we get an injury on Saturday or if someone was to suddenly leave.
Could happen tomorrow/the next couple of days.
No idea who or what position, yet.
This would push us over the max number of loans permitted in a match day squad of 5. But I’m sure we’d manage that accordingly.

Especially with Keane coming in.
Otherwise, I'm sure there is a decent chance a loan player would pick up an injury eventually.

We’ve currently got 4 on loan:
O’Mahony
Keane
Doyle
Nyambe
So we can take one more loanee.

Oh well, as mentioned just drop MOM (or send him back).

Not sure we can terminate O'Mahoney's loan in which case, I'd be straight on the phone to Brighton to let them know he won't get another game so they may want to recall him and loan him out to someone else.

Yep, nothing stopping us from taking on a 6th loan and leaving one of them (MoM) out of the matchday squad. Brighton should really just recall him, better back with them training in good facilities with a higher standard of players.

I really don't understand why MOM is still here. He adds absolutely nothing, and we've brought in someone better.

There was something on Twitter that said Brighton won't take MOM back unless they have somewhere else to send him, otherwise he stays with us. Not sure if this is the best situation for the player

Pity subloaning isn't allowed. I never realised it was until 2022 (?).

I believe there was a player that Reading took “on loan” from West Ham in the 1920’s and at the end of the season Reading sold him

Because we might not be able to under the terms of the loan?
LR may have also said that if he stays chance he’ll get some sort of game time if and when Marriott, Keane or KE get injured
Anyway some Twitter noise about Deji Elewere from Bromley. Brogue - any ideas?

I'd love this to be true.

As far as I'm aware, a loaning club can't terminate a season long loan but the parent club can recall the player during the window.
(I guess a parent club can recall a player outside a transfer window but he can't be registered to play elsewhere).

Just seen that about Deji Elewere (CB) on Twitter. Sound like he's a permanent move to a League One club whereas Brogue think this is a loan deal so probably not coming to us.

I remember reading about this. I believe we tried to sell him and West Ham said "Oi.....", recalled him from loan and sold him themselves

Did some digging and it is correct, however it was Middlesbrough that the player (Sam Jennings) was loaned from. Very odd scenario, it seems Reading signed him on a 3 year (yes, year!) loan in 1921 and in 1924 sold him to West Ham at the end of that “contract”! The FL cottoned on when they came to process his registration and the fee eventually went to Middlesbrough.

Crazy!
Next you'll tell me we got given a goal once when we didn't score.
Or that we had a player sent off who was nowhere near the scene of the foul.
