Leam Richardson is emerging as a leading candidate to become the next Blackburn Rovers manager.

£400,000 in compensation would be required.

I don't think you get far in football burning bridges and walking out after about 3 months, so I can't really see it.

Perhaps he can take Brogue with him if he does go. The £400k would be welcome.

That would be a surprise given he's only just started here and just completed his first transfer window. Why would he move to Blackburn immediately after a transfer window's closed?

The £400k would do nicely, but not sure who'd be the obvious candidate to replace him.

Didn't realise he'd played for Blackburn

No different to what happened with Rob Edwards and Wolves?

Richardson still has his family in the North, has a previous association with the club and would be in a division higher (although granted every chance they get relegated). Only red flag would be the fans are boycotting and the owners are still getting grief off fans and not investing.

Not ideal given how much he just got backed in the window, but I wouldn't be that disappointed either. Seems very odd if it happens, I suspect it won't.

He was out of work, we gave him a job, he`s friends with JJ, seems a genuine sort, can`t see him jumping ship after 3 months, won`t be a massive disaster if he did though.

Most of the comments on that Daily Mail article are from Blackburn fans saying "Don't, we're an absolute shit show".

I’m a little suprised if they are really keen on him

He’s done well here so far but I wouldn’t say he’s done a lot more than address some pretty obvious failings. Just been very well backed in the window

Not like he’s made us brilliantly entertaining or pulled a couple of players out the academy/reserves and made them superstars etc

400k would be good money but we’ve just spent that in the window in players who he wanted

The Daily Mail may have picked up on this but the bookies haven't

Richardson was at Blackburn in the late 90s but played 0 games for them. So other than being from “oop north” it’s hard to know why he’d want to go to club that’s still a Venky basket case. Leam hails from Leeds originally, so not exactly a Lancashire lad either.

If it did happen, would suggest £400k is a bit pathetic by way of compensation too, double it and RC might talk.

Sounds more like a journo has Googled "football managers who used to play for Blackburn Rovers" and turned it into an article.

Is this where we can start the Parky to come home rumours?

Both Richardson leaving here and Parky leaving Wrexham are not going to happen ...

No loyalty in football so it wouldn't surprise me if he goes. Having said that i think this is just paper talk so i doubt it would happen. But we are in a much better position to bring in a decent replacement than when noel was sacked.

Agree he ain’t going anywhere, doesn’t yet even feature in the obvious names being bandied by betting sites:

Nigel Pearson 14/1
Gary O'Neil 16/1
Chris Wilder 20/1
Michael Appleton 25/1
Paul Warne 30/1
