This has been mentioned a few times on Twitter today -
Reading FC are reportedly monitoring in-form York City striker Josh Stones, with Luton, Wycombe, Oxford and Stockport also keen on securing his services.
Stones was signed for Wigan under the Richardson tenure

Seems to be a physical striker. Scored fourteen in 1,869 minutes so far this season for York, including against Barnsley in the FA Cup.

Happy to be proven wrong but his record at York is good, nothing to get excited over, happy to brush off his poor record at Wigan and Ross County because he was still young and maybe not ready for that level, lower Scottish Prem is about League One standard right?

I'm going to reserve judgement until I've heard him cover The White Stripes.

Wonder if their promotion will have any effect on any proposed move, other than put the price up.

Would think they'll be in a strong place to keep him, win-win for both sides really, NL teams rarely get relegated their first season in League Two, he'll get a chance to show his ability at a higher level in a system he is already familiar with and it will boost his value if the club eventually decides to cash in should he successfully step up.

York will fancy their chances in going straight through L2, so would be surprised if they let him go unless he either says he wants out or someone offers silly money.
