Re: The generic transfer thread

listened to a podcast yesterday and they said Bayern Munich would make a lot of sense for him with them needing new wide attacking players, being able to offer fairly big money, Chumps League knockout regulars but more than that they said Bayern have a reputation of being the best club for injury p...

Re: Nations League & Friendlies

Lingard and Redmond in there ahead of Madison seems f*cking nuts. I saw the squad list and genuinely wondered if they had made some typo or accidental omission 'greed! Lingard is dogshit, defo not a starter! He's done pretty well for Southgate so would imagine he stands a decent chance in playing, ...

Re: World Cup 2022 qualifying begins

The place I grew up played only 2 games between 2011 and 2018, a home and away tie in the first round of caribbean qualifying. Lost on away goals. :| You may have seen the CONIFA thing last summer - genuinely think some of the smaller islands and outposts would be better off in that and playing sim...

Re: RUMOUR - Gomes wanted

Lets see what happens hey but can we a) not worry about things until something concrete happens and b) not start downgrading how well Gomes has done at the first rumour suggesting another club may be interested.

Wouldn't be surprised if another Champ club are interested, close to play-off form since Feb and could get him cheap.

Re: World Cup 2022 qualifying begins

How much competitive international football do countries like Bhutan actually get to play?

The World Cup qualifying doubles up as qualification for the Asian Cup too so say they lose to Guam, will they be their only 2 competive fixtures until 2023?

yep which I think also is roughly my point. They weren't massively different (up to .5 of a year different) from the likes of us, Norwich, Preston or Brentford. I've little doubt (though again without checking) that their squad prob cost a fair bit more as well I think the difference is the spread ...

Re: Rival Watch

yes it does fit my narrative, and you could probably find one where he filled the team with youth. But I didn't trawl through their games, just picked the obvious one. And it does show he had plenty of experience available to him, and maybe he wasn't quite 'forced' to use youth in the way some have...

Re: New Kits 2019/20

Haven't United also got the season wrong to mark the 20th anniversary of their treble year? They won the treble in 98/99 so surely the 20th season celebration should be 2018/19 i.e the one just finished.

They are actually marking the year they didn't enter the FA Cup.

Re: Rumour Meite back to France?

No way could they replace someone worth that much being touted for Tottenham, Arsenal, United etc with Meite  They're streets apart in ability Of course they wouldn't but with 69m they could spend say 25m on a front line replacement and say 8m on Meite as a development option - may even decide...

Re: Rival Watch

I think Potter's jumped the gun. He's built up a decent reputation in Sweden and has done a good job at Swansea in the circumstances. Give it until Christmas and there'll be better jobs than Brighton available in the Premiership. He'll know what we don't and that is the situation at Swansea with re...

Re: The Playoffs 2018/19 edition

Completely agree here, I think the playoff system needs a total revamp so finishing 3rd and to a lesser extent 4th is actually a positive Italian play off system: If the team finishing 3rd is 10 points or more ahead of 4th place then they are automatically promoted and there are no play offs. If th...

Quite interesting on Twitter how many Leeds fans seem to think thry have to announce they will still go watch them next season. What a strange thing for a fan to think they have to confirm.

Re: Champions League & Europa League 2018/19

NYT reporting that UEFA are planning to ban Man City from the Champions League for a season for lying about their finances...... A whole season - how will they cope? Whilst, if true, good to see UEFA taking a stance question would be, would they do the same for say Real Madrid? Can see it being dow...

Uke Bottom of the league

(Surprised at Huddersfield)

In what way? They have the 2nd lowest wage bill and massively underacheived, so the cost per point is high as they barely got any.

Re: We're ManchesteROFL United, we do what we want

There's still a decent squad in there somewhere, but there looks to be some bad apples in there that's destroyed their previously very strong mentality (perhaps it's the Fergie effect, or lack of it). They could turn things around pretty quickly with the money they have to invest but it looks more ...

Re: We're ManchesteROFL United, we do what we want

deary me, what have United done? Following the Liverpool path - club had a legacy, make some fairly awful decisions with managers/players and slip away needing a massive rebuild whilst others overtake them. This summer will decide if they are able to get back to the top 4 or if they are at risk of ...

Re: LOLiverpooLOL - Next Season

Isn't that just a by product of them being historically sh!t? Give it another 10 years or so of continued success and you'll start to see City shirts outnumber Liverpool or Utd shirts in random towns across the country. 'greed hence the amount of LFC fans on here in their mid to late 30's Liverpool...
