Re: Players you'd like us to sign thread

Forgive me for perhaps jumping the gun a bit! :? This isn't in the assumption Reading are going to go up to the Premier League this year but interested to see where people think we need to strengthen in order to be competitive in the big time also who would realistically join us for a chance at the ...

Re: If RFC don't make the play-offs....

I'll be a bit dissapointed considering we've been up there for so long, and it means we'd have to do pretty oxf*rd gash for the remainder of the season, but I won't lose any sleep over it as we would get annihilated anyway, a top 10 finish still represents improvement, I think we'll be in a better ...

Re: Sheffield Wednesday (A) Predictions

3-1 Sheffield Wednesday

We concede two goals in quick succession one of them being through a Tyler Blackett lapse of concentration AGAIN, followed by their winger cutting in from the left and getting an easy shot on goal due to Gunter standing off his man AGAIN.

Re: If RFC don't make the play-offs....

We didn't play hoofball under BMcD. We played fluid, exciting attacking football. Spirit and flair. That's the Reading way. That's the BMcD way and that was the Leicester way last night. ha, not last year we didn't :) Which is why Steve Clarke has lost so much of his credibility as a football manag...

Re: If RFC don't make the play-offs....

Please god no Why not? Granted we still need to work on a plan B but look where it has got us in a season Very short sighted IMO .. prefer it when we played BMD hoofball? Re: If RFC don't make the play-offs....

1.We lose Stam 2.We lose Brian 3.We also potentially lose the likes of Swift, Williams, Kelly etc to PL clubs. If we don't make the PL, we risk losing any potential buyers and we also risk being in a situation once again where the Thai owners do not want to invest in the club like AZ. Having said t...

Re: BFTG Wolves

Pitch - We know about this already but what about if we get to the play offs? It could dramatically affect our chances if the ball is still bouncing around like a beach ball. It looked very awkward to play on until the rain set in. Both teams play on the same pitch so the opposition would be just a...

CountryRoyal
bracksroyal10 Missing Swift - Bullied off the ball, missing that spark we are all used to seeing from him. Can't recall him influencing the game that much.

Beyond getting the assist for the winner you mean?

Yes ... thought he was anonymous other then that IMO

Re: Newcastle (H) Team and Predictions

2-0 Newcastle

I hope he proves me wrong but Blackett at full back vs the Championship's best wingers is a disaster waiting to happen.

Re: BFTG Wolves

1st half - Slow, lethargic on the ball and no quick passing football, Liam Moore unusually seemed to dither on the ball when running out of the defence with it. Until it started raining, the pitch seemed to be as dry as a desert when you were watching the ball roll across the surface... HORRIBLE HOR...

Re: Why are we so quiet?

Maybe once our idiot 16 year old fans stop taking people's allocated seats at away games and giving it the biggen in their fake Burberry scarves/Stone Island jackets we MIGHT just all unite and make some noise at away games. I've seen some embarrassing moments from our away fans this year, fighting...

Re: BFTS - Brighton (A)

I'm a big fan of Stam and I think he is a tactical genius given his short time in management. However on this occasion I thought he got it wrong with the team, for me Kelly or Swift had to play from the off. We lacked that creative spark lacked ambition going forward and ultimately invited pressure ...

Re: Brighton (a) predictions and team

If we are going to win, I think we may do it in style and win convincingly.

2-1 up inside 60 minutes, Brighton chase the equaliser late on and we go on the counter attack to win 3-1.

Re: Corner Takers

Ian Royal Harte was good. The Obita McAnuff combo got good results, with highly variable quality admittedly.

I knew there was someone big I was forgetting Ian Royal!

How could I forget that wand of a left foot

Re: Corner Takers

I can't really think of anyone else who has been as consistent on free kicks/deliveries into the box since Nicky Shorey/Gylfi left the club.

Swift seemed to be putting in a few dangerous balls at the start of the season so I don't understand why he is no longer taking corners/free kicks.

Corner Takers

Does anyone know the logic behind allowing G-Mac to take corners given that he is a big body that would be useful in the box potentially? Not too sure if anyone else has clocked on to this but rather than fizz the ball into the box for our target men to attack like Kelly, its becoming a common theme...
