Jerry St Clair But what does "meeting BBCRB in the middle" actually mean? The possibility of shared rights to live commentary with 107? 107 being ditched in favour of BBCRB?

I would guess it's a case of BBCRB have offered £65k, RFC want £100k but are willing to compromise at say £80K.

Somehow I wasn't expecting that they would be allowed to start the bulletin with... 'The loyal Reading fans on Hobnob have been causing the Reading Chairman JM to get all hot and bothered over his disgraceful decision to stop 1/2 a million loyal Reading fans listening to their preferred commentary ...

So as RFC is run on such autocratic lines any decision made by the club is above criticism as to do so reflects badly on our saviour Mr Mad? I'm not saying that he hasn't made a mistake here or in the past (and I've criticised decisions in the past myself), just that I personally feel that a lot of...

Just been reading ( excuse the pun   ) a few posts and thought:- " Hey, let's really critizise the man who almost single handedly saved our little club from extinction and has now found us playing against the elite of English football in less than 2 decades" The bugger has stop...

The numbers bandied about is that 500,000 could lose the ability to listen to the game through one particular source, does anybody have any actual figures on how many people actually listened to the live commentary on Berks and not just the pre/post match stuff that will still be on there? Agreed t...

If there is no improvement, and we dont see a return then its another story....but he is doing all he can to make the club stable, and be able to run itself...and i would rather know that the clubs long term future was secure, and pay a bit more on season tickets, and not listen to the usual statio...

In fact there are so many ways that fans can hear/see games live (or as live) next year that the impact of a move from BBC Berks to 107 is in business terms almost negligible. Apart from Reading 107 and the occasional match on 5 Live where else are these many ways that fans can hear/see games live ...

I actually think its shocking that the club are being so tight fisted as to stop fans in places such as Thatcham, Newbury, Basingstoke etc to listen to commentary. Reading 107 is a sad excuse for a radio station and I shalln't listen to the commentary at all. JM... wake up and smell the coffee... t...

skrauze Has anyone dropped an e-mail to the Post? They might be intrested in the story, get some support going etc.

What story?

The fact that the club have chosen the bid they feel is more beneficial to themselves (for whatever reason). Shock, horror.

http://www.petitiononline.com/BBCBERKS/petition.html There we go guys, sign away, lets sort this mess out, because the club can't seem to! I fear it is too late for that, I'm afraid. Yep, if a tender has been accepted by the club then it is as good as a contract I believe (happy to be corrected). I...

I think Kitson lacks a sense of humour. Thats an understatement! he is a wimp too, for instance when lita got glassed in bristol, he claimed that he was no longer to be going to town in case he gets glassed! what a prat, im not really sure that reading fans would attack one of their own players! no...

I would seriously kick a stink up over this. If he's been in that seat for the last few seasons, it should be the new guy who's moved not him.

Another bollox decision from the club. Is short term cashflow really that desperate even with the hike in season ticket prices and lack of transfer expenditure? Surely the benefit of reaching a wider regional audience as a the only Premiership club in the wider area outside of London/Portsmouth has...

Gordons Cumming It would be interesting to hear the club's real side to this decision.

But we won't.......................

I would have thought it is fairly obvious GC.

Harold I'm of the opinion that friendlies are a waste of time going to watch unless for instance Reading play somebody like Inter Milan that have some good international players on show.

Even that is a waste of time IMHO.

joe999 I can imagine what Berkshire will say if they're asked to come back.

So can I, it's three letters long, it begins with Y, ends in S and has an E in the middle.

I think you are seeing the best business plan being put in place to make the club a viable proposition. If you think about what has happened of late then it all makes perfect business sense : Rise in ticket prices - Increase profit margins and income Two new shirts - Increase profit in merchandisin...

107 have announced dedicated shows to Reading FC every Monday and Friday as part of the deal. Maybe they are taking it more seriously now and an increase in quality will result.
