Mr Angry At the game last night, I heard that Jamie Cureton has Motor Neurone disease; terrible news if true.

Maybe they were getting confused with Marcus Stewart? Ex Rovers striker who had a fund raiser recently for it alongside Stephen Darby.

Yeah. Apparently Curo played an Isthmian League match (at 48!!) for Maldon & Tiptree as recently as last month.

And has just been "promoted" to manager/head coach at Maldon and oversaw their 5-2 win at Stowmarket (who have not won all season) last night. Maldon are now 10th in the Isthmian North Division (tier 8.).

Ah - bollox; pleased for Jamie; sad for Marcus Stewart (who I always rated).

Sorry for the fake news!

I thought he was alright, very fast and direct. Looked like the Shermanator. IIRC manager changes at both clubs and his loan got cut short.

The current issue (no. 88) of Backpass magazine (you can usually find it on WH Smiths) has a good 3 page interview with Jerry Williams on his career and covers the 13 successive league wins in 85/86.

Tom McIntyre's just got promoted. I look forward to welcoming him back on loan next January when he's only played three times before Christmas.

Portsmouth won't be playing in the FA Cup before Xmas, so it'll 3 LC apps.

Highgate United, needing to win their final game 12-0 against Bewdley Town to secure a play off spot in the Midlands Premier Division (Step 5) do so with a last minute goal from 40 year old Aaron Brown.

Slightly suss, although their opponents had amassed a staggering 5pts in their previous 33 games with a goal difference of -137.

The commentator of Stevenage's game at Oxford during the week said that Nesta Guinness-Walker is the great grandson of Sir Alec Guinness.
That one passed me by if indeed it was common knowledge in his time here.

It was mentioned pretty regularly on here, wasn’t he referred to using some sort of Star Wars related nickname sometimes ?

Wasxdefinitely known about on here. He was occasionally referred to as Obi Wan. Mainly when Rahman was first choice and NGW's stock was rising as his gametime diminished.

Obi-Wan (if he'd ever got good enough we could have added Bissaka to it).

Saw Villa have been drawn against Olympiacos in the European conference semi

Can Abbey play in that? Sounds like he’s been starting for them and doing well
