Greatwesternline WRTOP, I've seen this tweet from SBWD: https://x.com/SellBeforeWeDai/status/17 ... 92091?s=20

What legal advice do we think SBWD need to procure, and is it fair for them to be fleecing gullible Reading fans into donating their hard earned so that a few self selected fans can pay a lawyer to tell them about the basics of insolvency law?

I have contributed, but like anything it’s individual choice.

Agreed.

I shall probably contribute but I am surprised that we can't find a suitable lawyer amongst our fanbase who would be prepared to act pro-bono. Maybe they should put out messages on SM asking? Maybe SJM knows someone and can call in a favour?

Other than legal advice regarding being arrested for being on the pitch or being sued by Reading FC for trespass leading to loss of earnings for Reading FC what legal advice does SBWD need?

they are not impressed

on that subject, why am I seeing so many Birmingham & Cardiff fans on twitter revelling in our current situation? Never knows any beef between us in the past, but they appear to be having the time of their lives over our struggles

Was there not a bit of trouble with Cardiff in a recent meeting at our ground? Suspected racist chanting from their end which I think we complained about and maybe a bit of handbags between some supporters?

I know someone who can't stand Cardiff fans either - said they've historically never got on well with them. I never thought they were known to be a difficult bunch though.

I take it you never went to any away games at Ninian park back in the day.

Ninian Park was always one of the more lively awaydays.

That wasn't you who donated £1k :|

Nothing like that. It’s already heading towards £3.5k, which is pretty good going.

Once the protests move to London they will probably need legal observers (thanks to our wonderful Government really cracking down on right of protest) but again I would hope we have lawyers amongst our fanbase who would volunteer for that role.

If only there was an experienced criminal barrister somewhere who has supported Reading for 30 years who could be approached to help pro bono. God. If only.

We need a proper lawyer. Not a small town bird lawyer.

I genuinely think they're after insolvency legal advice, genuinely. Because the tweet suggests its off the back of the comments in the CMS Select Committee hearing with RIck Parry being questioned by Damien Greene, but all they talk about is the oddity of an owner neither wishing to fund the club, nor sell it.

My wife is a restructuring lawyer at a magic circle firm, i reckon i could pose her some hypothetical questions if required, while she gives me strange looks having never been in the slightest interested in her area of law before.

Do you think we need protest banners written in Chinese?

Might have more of an impact, particularly if the coverage goes global

He read about it once so yes.

You really are a contrarian.

Not at all. Saturdays action has inflicted huge damage to the club. Something that is being conveniently ignored.

Exactly!

Bet no one can name a single protest in history that caused short-term pain and went on to create a positive change.

Suffragettes; the Easter Rising; the Revolutions of 1989; the poll tax riots to name a few.

He was the inspiration for the Harvey Specter character on Suits. They had to tone down the sex appeal though.

"We're still talking to people," said Pang. "I ask our fans to be patient."

Sorry fellas, we're being impatient getting upset at points deductions, unpaid players and staff and transfer embargoes.
