Royals and Racers Marlow v Mk Dons semi fixed for Tuesday 23rd April KO 7.45pm

Very young Mk Dons side tonight
Marlow 1 MK Dons 0 14 mins another goal for Tarpey.
2-0 24 mins Tarpey with his 2nd
2-1 30 mins

Is that the same Tarpey that what prolific with Maidenhead Town a few years back?

Hope Marlow get through. Would rather watch us against a first team than a development side in the final.

F-T 4-2
A workmanlike performance from the home side sees them meet the Royals in the final, however the young MK Dons team weren’t disgraced and played some good football.
The 2 standout players for me in the match were the MK Dons no 3 Brooklyn Ilunga and the no 5 Callum Tripp- make a note of their names they will have bright futures.

The MK no 3 had a couple of loan spells at Wealdstone in the National League and looked rather useful there (first spell especially).

Callum Tripp is only 17. Brooklyn Ilunga is 20

Hope the final doesn’t carry on the way our game against them last season ended….

Certainly the Slough 3 G pitch should be to our advantage. I suppose it will depend on what sort of team we put out, which might be dictated as to whether we are still involved in the PL 2 play-offs- 1st and 2nd rounds sshould be played by the 14th.

I was thinking more of the rather shambolic and ill tempered last few minutes and immediate post match goings on rather then the result !

Odd they've changed the date and venue, but kept it midweek. Would've thought they'd want it on a weekend to get people in. Sandhurst and Marlow would have finished their respective seasons - so could it be due to us being in the Premier League 2 play-offs?

Extra time and penalties could run it a bit close for me - as I'd need to get the 22:54 train to Reading. The final train would get to Reading at the same time my final connecting train leaves Reading. Shouldn't be an issue though.

Undoubtedly due to the play-offs.

If we beat Boro then we will play the QF between the 10th and 13th - so 14th no longer works - SFs would be the following weekend, so needs to stay in midweek to give the players as big a rest as possible else may see us fielding a weaker side in the cup final, which would be a shame.

Can only assume the original venue is not available on the 15th.

Don’t think the change has anything to do with PL 2 play-offs. Firstly the Senior cup is a midweek competition and the final was always going to be midweek. The PL 2 play-off matches can be played on a Friday or Saturday which leaves Tuesday 14th as a date the final could have been played.
I do know the B & B FA do now like their finals to be played on 3g pitches and maybe the switch has been made to reward Sandhurst for investing in their decision to install one last summer.

Bit disappointed with the change of ground. Slough would have been a new ground but I’ve been to Bracknell and frankly wasn’t impressed. A half decent crowd will mean parking will be a nightmare. They also have one of the smallest terraces I have ever seen, it’s one step about 8 inches high and holds about 4 people. Suspect Slough would have been a much better option.

Sure that the B&B final has been at 3pm on a May BH Monday before, that would make more sense than a Tue/Wed evening.
