by The_Cat » 30 Oct 2006 16:57

Where do the coaches leave from at the Madejski, i've got to go by coach this saturday as there are no trains back and it'll be my first trip using STAR.

By the STAR HQ now as they go in convoy and it's easier to organise it there.

They line up outside the east stand, but you get dropped off at the park and ride.

The main car-park opposite the megastore. Also is the temporary car park for hotel.

This map is a little out of date since the Hotel expansion but the location of the park & ride is correct.

If you stand on Royal Way with the Madejski Stadium Megastore at your back then in front of you is a road which bisects the main car park area. The parking area to the right is the park and ride area.

As far as I know the users of the STAR coaches for away matches can park in their choice of the left (red) or right (park and ride) or even in the little car park (blue) outside the Megastore.

It surprises me that the organisers of the park and ride are happy for so may fans to park there.

Be cautious when entering and leaving the car parks because there are posts fitted in the gateways which make the entrances extremely narrow.

There may be an issue with parking if there is a London Irish match on the same day but in the past when this has been the case the coaches have departed from Foster Wheeler.

The embarkation of the STAR coaches is outside the East Stand and near STAR HQ which is round the corner and not actually visible from the parking area.

If anyone knows of any official instructions regarding the parking for the STAR coaches then please set me right.

BTW All the white and light green areas are good for free parking on match days

No the club has asked that we do not use the blue car park outside the Megastore as they often have evening functions, and obviously when you are dressed to the nines you can't walk more than a few paces. So it is the Park and Ride car park only.

We got dropped back at the Madejski, I had some annoying people on my bus who kept going "BRAP" all the way back.
