Not bad considering we used to take 300 there in the championship

Around 550 sold now. Block NS3 has now opened, with NS2 being almost sold out (note the bottom section of the stand appears to be unavailable for purchase at this stage).

Good effort. 650-700 would be decent as Barnsley is a dull away day

Went to this fixture a couple of years ago, decent away day I thought. Nice traditional ground and some pubs nearby. Also on that occasion it was a 6 pointer with both clubs fighting relegation from the championship, so we took about 1500-1600 up there.

Can't see us taking that many again though as it's a less meaningful game, pretty far to travel and we've played them pretty recently, (which wasn't the case for a lot of clubs in this division at the start of the season).

Went a few years back, Barnsley has the distinct air of working hard and playing hard. Pub closest to station was packed from about noon and very home fans only. Away fans pub was a sports centre, iirc.

Loads of pubs in and around the town centre, there's a small arcade running from the town hall area down to all the new shops, that's got three pretty solid micropubs/bars in it.

There's a cracking pie shop near the ground.

A very steady stream of tickets are still being sold - now around 660.

Yeah, they took 569 to us and your comment is going to lead me down a rabbit hole of how many fans have we taken to teams compared to how many they brought to us.

We usually take around 300-400. I'm estimating we're at 684 currently, which is between our promotion pushes of 2008-09 (716) and 2011-12 (678) respectively - I reckon we'll now take more than the higher number and will probably be double our usual following at Barnsley.

Noticed we took 1,574 there towards the end of the 2021-22 season when we were in a direct relegation battle with Barnsley - I think them winning would've put them within two points of us with seven to play.

In 2010/11 when we finished in the playoffs we took 323. I was one of them so 700 is a great effort, unfortunately I'm missing this one but hope everyone who goes enjoys the day out. It's a long way to go and we've played them at Oakwell 10 times in the last 16 years and one of the less exciting away days so this is a good support considering we have probably nothing to play for.
