Clyde1998 Leverkusen 1-0 down against Roma... Apparently Roma's keep has kept them in the game.

2-0 Roma - both coming from penalties. :?

Quality goal as well, especially the composure to beat his man before shooting.

Have any team ever gone through an entire season including all cups without losing a single game?

Not since the introduction of European competitions apparently.

There is simply no better footballing entertainment about at the moment than Leverkusen - it is frankly incredible to watch.

When they got back to 2-1 last night, you could see the team collectively decided that they would rather risk losing 3-1 on the night (and going to ET) in order to try and stay undefeated rather than, as most sides would do, simply trying to shut the game down as they were winning on aggregate. Probably should have scored at least 1 more in those last 10 mins.

4 games to go - new record set for the undefeated record - 49 games.

Bochum & Augsburg left in the Bundesliga
Atalanta in the EL
Kaiserslauten in the DFB Pokal.

If they avoid defeat in the Bundesliga but lose one of the cup finals on penalties, could it be said they went the entire season undefeated? They will have lost a tie but not a game of football?

I have always thought of going out on pens as drawing the match tbh, with pens just there to decide who goes through as the teams couldn't be split on the pitch. But then talking about a team going undefeated all season when they have lost a cup final on pens doesn't sit right with me.

tldr - lol, I dunno

I'd say yes. Penalties are just a lottery tacked on to things as no one can be arsed to play another match.

The first time I have watched them for a full match last night-what a cracking team.
One of my bugbears with so many football teams is that players pass and watch (the lazy way) rather than pass and move which requires more effort.

They certainly play as a unit where everybody seems to know what his role is but also of his team mate.
This scoring of late goals is way ahead of Liverpool or Man Utd of old and IMHO it is much more about ability and commitment than luck.

Hopefully the club will keep its players and who , once again in German football, have a player in Frimpong who came from British football and has been greatly improved as has been the case with Sancho and Gnabry as well as Musiala at Bayern Munich and it could be argued the same about Dier and Kane.

I wonder if the German national team will get its act together for the Euros next month as they so often do when the big tournaments come around.

Loafer Imagine saying kane is better then messi, haaland, mbappe and cr7  :|

Messi can't cut it even in the French league, Haaland fronts probably the most creative side the PL has ever seen but still misses sitters and should have way more goals..... Mbappe is a speed merchant and is overrated nowadays, PSG have been pathetic.....Thin Ronaldo playing in the Arab league looks jaded and hardly cutting it up.

Kane has been consistent in the PL and the Bunders league and tops the CL goals this season. His strike rate is phoenominal as his creativity so there is case to say that yes he is the best.
His problem is Bayern aren't very good with Tuchel as manager. Their problem isn't scoring, it's defending.

Leverkusen 2-0 down in the Europa League final against Atalanta. Would be a shame if they fell now.

Haaland had a "bad season" yet still finished PL top scorer, and that was despite being injured for large chunks of the season.

Mbappé is more than a speed merchant. He's a good finisher and an intelligent player. PSG have been pathetic because of their poor recruitment strategy and lack of structure on the pitch. If Kane gets the benefit of the doubt because of the failings of other people then Mbappé should too. PSG should have built around him instead of trying to be the football equivalent of the Harlem Globetrotters and signing Neymar and Messi.
