Hendo72 busHound Some of the food is crap but you can easily bring your own. Drinks are pretty standard - not sure it’s much different to anywhere else
The fanzone bit with the big tv showing the prem game is good. The pizzas there are good, not tried anything else.
There is a crappy McDonalds, Costa and Itsu about 5 mins walk away. It’s fine really. It could do with a pub or two nearby but we all know that
Lager is more expensive than both Spurs and West ham, £6.10 for Heineken is shocking.
Not for West Ham
Spurs isn't the best example to use either, seeing as they actually have a brewery on-site.

RG30 Not sure who from the STAR board thought this statement was a good idea but have to say feels a bit misjudged. Of the ST holders I've spoken to no one was in disagreement with prices rising, especially with the reasons outlined reasonably;Reading Football Club this week announced prices for Season Tickets ahead of the 2023/24 EFL League One season. Many supporters were dismayed to see prices increase over the prior season despite the drop from The Championship into the third tier of English Football.
We acknowledge that prices have been static for a number of seasons, and that an increase would inevitably be required, but to have it come at this stage when fans have just been delivered the blow of relegation is a difficult situation.
Of great concern is that the announcement is the first major communication from the club since that relegation was confirmed. We have yet to hear from Senior Leadership as to what actions have been taken thus far, and when fans can expect more information on the new manager, how we will be operating as a club going forward, and what to expect for those behind the scenes who may face cutbacks as the club adjusts to life in a lower division.
News that we have seen a great response in terms of sales of new and renewed Season Tickets is of no surprise, as our loyal fanbase will always support this club regardless of which league they find themselves in. It is critical that Reading Football Club understand that this loyalty deserves the respect and consideration to be open and address our circumstances with those fans directly.
Leading with a call to lend financial backing to the club during a tough economic climate for many, while remaining silent on where we stand as regards the owner’s commitment, the process by which we are selecting our new manager and the reality of how the club will operate next season, is thoroughly backwards and does not paint the club in good light.

On Strings Having to wait until the end of June due to a new car but will be getting a season ticket again after a few years without one. Wilder the decider here. Actually feel we're starting to get somewhere again now we have Bowen upstairs and now a proven manager at L1 and Championship level. Hopefully the years of mismanagement upstairs are now behind us.

Ark Royal Renewed. Works out at £10.43/game, so a bargain.

Clyde1998 I wonder how many season tickets we will sell this season.
The trend has been negative for most of the past decade:
2011-12 - 12,395
2012-13 - 17,447 (+41%)
2013-14 - 14,547 (-17%)
2014-15 - 12,552 (-14%)
2015-16 - 12,685 (+1%)
2016-17 - 11,497 (-9%)
2017-18 - 11,586 (+1%)
2018-19 - 10,052 (-13%)
2019-20 - 9,561 (-5%)
2020-21 - NA
2021-22 - 8,346 (-13% on 2019-20)
Season ticket sales were down a third when comparing 2011-12 to 2021-22.

I would estimate an increase due to the slightly more positive messages coming from the club (when they aren't radio silent) and the novelty of a League One journey.

But that might be counterbalanced by a drop in sales as people won't be worried about getting tickets for bigger games.

Royal_jimmy I bet some fans will buy season tickets to have a shot of tickets for Oxford away

It was certainly one of my considerations, yes.
