Re: England - the future....

What a touch from Grealish. He's been our best player by a mile. He is different class. What Wilshere could have become. Potentially our best player since Gascoigne. Or at least, the one I most enjoy watching. He had a very good game and no doubt was our best player by far. But the question mark fo...

Re: VAR

Instead of feet, how about hips or torso? And FFS, introduce a "Referee's call". If its not obvious after 20 seconds with a freeze frame then its within the realms of human error. If its not obvious, its not wrong. If cricket can make a decision in a minute with a no ball camera, snickome...

Re: VAR

Just make the decision based on the players feet, ignore players leaning, outstretched arms etc. Still have the lines if needs be but if there's less than 5cm in it give the benefit to the attacker if it wasn't flagged as offside in real time.

Re: VAR

have the FA marked what part of the body you can score with? Was this part closer to the goal than two defenders? Yes, you cannot score with any part of your arm therefore it is impossible for him to be offside You might want to update your FA powerpoint presentation, they've changed that so top of...

Best flying knee during a pitch riot is Boban taking out the policeman just as Yugoslavia is at breaking point.

Silver Fox
6ft Kerplunk I think Pele includes bicycle kick from Escape to Victory in his total.

Should count double tbf, I never thought it would be topped but then along came Yakou at the weekend

Neither as good as Trevor Morley's. FACT.

Re: Best Player in the World Ever

Maradona for me. I've always liked Argentina. And he played for Napoli. He was riding tackles in the age where you could go out and maim people. Amazing footballer and an absolute twat as well. So much more interesting than Pele. ^ This. One of those people who is a complete bellend but somehow als...

Re: VAR

Thanks for the info on penalties scored this season-it has felt each time when watching that a goal will be scored. Good, that's what penalties are supposed to be (although I'll accept that they get given for the softest of things sometimes and not for nailed on goal scoring opportunities), what we...

Re: Weekend Football

What's going on with Bamford? He's never looked likely to score an absolute bucket load of goals to me but that's what he appears to be doing this season. Fair play to him and I'm sure me slagging him off for years is what's spurred him on.

Re: VAR

Also - lots of calls this morning having ref's mic'd up etc - not a chance in high hell that will happen whilst players continue to talk to referee's like absolute dog turds. That should be one of the main reason to bring it in. If its stops all the petulant abuse the players dish give the ref I'm ...

Re: Changes in Law 2019/2020

4 is a Wenger thing isn't it. Though didn't think he was saying it should only be five minutes from the end. His argument is that you rarely get much of an advantage from throw in your own half. Given the amount of added on time you can get most games will mean that five minutes is at least eight or...

Re: The Manager Sack Race/Merry-go-Round

Old Man Andrews This is the man who walked out on Ireland during the World Cup because the facilities weren't good enough for him. How much is he going to enjoy Harrogate away?

I reckon a visit to the Turkish baths and an afternoon tea at Betty's would chill him out nicely.

genome Not really a VAR issue, it's a rule issue.

Still an absolute farce though.

^ This. Stop blaming refs/VAR and give the rule makers a kicking instead.

Isn't he already injured? Or was that just an excuse put out by Bale/Madrid* once he'd got back from International duty.

Re: UEFA Nations League

Was amazed to read this morning that inclusive of his appearance as a sub against Iceland (perhaps only because Walker got sent off), TAA has just ten England caps. Why on earth isn't he one of the first names on the teamsheet? Southgate's formation? It is easy to forget how short a time Trent has ...
