Re: England - the future....

Tyrone Mings, Clive Tyldesley and Ian Wright have all impressed tonight. Don't agree about Tyldesley especially in first half. Quite happy to criticise the presence of an Italian UEFA official citing recent abuse of Kean and Lukaku in Serie A. But conveniently not mentioning Sterling got racially a...

Re: CONFIMRED - Mark Bowen

Given how this has gone down I hope Bowen goes full troll mode and starts Gunter as right back on Saturday.
Sure its particularly uninspiring, but isn't the Reading way to give new players and manager at least 45mins of their first match before the motivational booing starts?

Re: England - the future....

Winks is just a very home grown Spursy type of midfielder in my opinion. The type that in the 80s would've ended up at Norwich having failed to push on.

Re: Congratulations, you are the new Reading manager

As Reading still haven't announced a new manager here is your opportunity to pitch for the job. What formation would you play (a different one for home and away matches perhaps)? Which players would you drop and why? Are there any of the exiled players you would reinstate or anyone you want to prom...

Bet a lot of them have been queuing up outside the manager's office to claim the J20s were their drinks.

Re: Generic clubs in financial crisis Thread

Just shooting off the hip here but something I've been mulling over. Obviously it's devastating if your club goes under - but all this talk of "this shouldn't be allowed to happen to clubs with over 100 years of history" rather exacerbates the problem. It's the "banks are too big to ...

Re: Generic clubs in financial crisis Thread

genome How the fcuk did that pass the EFL's test?

He paid the £1 in cash and didn't take a loan from the bank to do it.

The fact that the Football League made Shaun Harvey its Chief Executive tells you everything you need to know about how much its cares about the financial state of clubs.

Re: LOLiverpooLOL - Next Season

Yeah, how many of us could honestly say that at the age of 16, being skillz at football and with riches pretty much guaranteed wouldn't be a massive twat. I was bad enough as a 16 year old with no football skillz and not even a sniff of riches coming my way.

Re: Gay Championship player about to go public....

Victor Meldrew no more likely to react to a gay player who has come out than they now (don't) react in an adverse way to players of non-white race.

Um, not sure how you've missed the fact that black players do still get racially abused by fans.

Yeah, we've just been having a "who knew you could make a sash kit look bad" chat in the office.

Re: AFCON 2019

Nice penalty shoot out between Tunisia and Ghana complete with Tunisia subbing their keeper in the last seconds of extra time. Keeper coming off had a massive sulk and it looked like the incoming keeper had blown it by getting decent hand to the (saveable) first penalty but not stopping it going in....

then of course there will be the youth game, typically U13s who play on full size pitches with full size goals, anon anon Never played on a full sized pitch playing youth football or cricket and I am sure the goals were about 75% normal size. my lad did with Kennet Valley U13s,14s etc We played on ...

Re: The womens world cup

This is team seems to be very much like the men's last year. Look decent going forward and likely to score goals but can a bit flakey in defence at times that you worry will get exploited by the better teams as the tournament goes on.

I'd find this world cup much more enjoyable if Jonathan Pearce had his microphone taken away.

2. Not allowing the PLAYERS, let alone the crowd to see the piece being reviewed - if the Cameroon players could have seen the pictures last night, there'd have been a lot less protesting (although probably not none) Fully agree with this. For the offside stuff is makes sense to stick the picture u...
