Re: BFTG Boro

I was listening to the Berks commentary during the game and any of this "Sack Gomes" nonsense starts fairly and squarely at Tim Dellors door, I couldn't believe it when shortly after we conceded he began musing along the lines of "I'm not saying he should be underpressure but do you ...

Re: BFTG Boro

:| Not one poster on here has suggested Gomes should be sacked. He remains very much in credit for keeping us up last season. TBF I`m reacting to the social media kids. I was listening to the Berks commentary during the game and any of this "Sack Gomes" nonsense starts fairly and squarely...

Re: Bristol City (A)

It costs more to watch Reading at Bristol City than any away fan pays to watch their team in the premier league. Surely that’s not right. Is there nothing STAR can push the club into here? I think it's more a case of the EFL and their member clubs needing to do the right thing for their fans. In th...

Re: Anton took money!!

I heard it on BBC Berks or at least part of it. SJM said there were warning signs early on, There was a clause that mean't the club reverted back to SJM, However the club that reverted back to him was in debt to 3rd parties and SJM coughed up something like £1.6m to keep the club going and that the...

Re: Have we sold the Mad Stad to the owners/someone else?

Woukd be interesting to know the terms of the lease wouldn’t it ! We certainly did a lot of remediation work when the ground was built but it is still a landfill site with methane produced and you’d think there would be restrictions on what it could be used for. Not sure valuing it as potential dev...

Re: Have we sold the Mad Stad to the owners/someone else?

The sale shouldn’t Be an issue, it’s the valuation that will catch people. The EFL rules state that any transactions must be at a genuine market rate. This is in the context of supplying goods and services and sponsorship but would be relevant for sale of assets as well. As long as we sold the grou...

Re: Phil Parkinson is waiting.

Facts, back in 106 our record breaking season we had an English manager, English Chairman and a majority English/ British squad. The last time we were promoted in 2011-2012 we had an English manager, English Chairman and a majority English /British squad. Who let Dim Tellor on here? Clearly we won'...

Re: Next seasons kit choice?

Be interesting to know how and when the data was collated. Ours have only been on sale for 3/4 weeks. And the fact that in kids sizes most of the home kit is out of stock until mid September No women's sizes (home and away) with Casumo as sponsor until 'some time in September' either. Quite clear n...

Re: Blue-collar streetfood

I was surprised to see someone tucking into one of those over-priced crappy hot dogs that they sell inside the stadium when they could have had what IMO is a much, much better (and larger) sausage in a decent toasted roll + loads of different toppings from Heavenly Sausage outside. Doubt there is m...

Re: BFTG - Charlton

On the BBC Berks coverage Mick Gooding mentioned that when he and Jimmy Quinn we're managers of Reading at the start of the season after the playoff loss to Bolton, they wanted to sign Clive Mendoca. The chairman asked them for two budgets, one to reach the playoffs again and one to finish mid-tabl...

Re: BFTG - Charlton

A bad game for Homes, leaving two tired and ineffective strikers and brining on Boye and Meite in the wings was a massive error Agreed, Listening to BBC Berks after the game and Adie and Mick were saying the same thing. Didn't catch the Gomes interview, so not sure if he acknowleged this error or e...

Re: BFTG - Charlton

I'd like to see the clock in the hands of an independent official who isn't having to deal with all the other crap going on. I'd also like that person signal the end of the game when the game ends, rather than waiting for the ball to go into a neutral "non-controversial" position on the p...

Re: BFTG - Charlton

That's what you expect from a team that have just come up. plenty of effort but not too much skill, saw it the saw way as most on here, not in any trouble at all the 1st half after the early scare, HT thinking it looked like a 1-0 either way. Then the 2nd half we really didn`t turn up. Rafael didn`...

Re: BFTG - Charlton

Charlton played well and were really up for it. However, they are still riding high on the crest of the wave created by the way they won promotion. It will be interesting to see how they react after a couple of defeats that will inevitably come their way. At the risk of sounding arrogant, I don't th...

Re: BFTG - Charlton

That wasn't good. Not at all Actually, I have to say I enjoyed the first half. Was a really good half of 0-0, we could have had two and Charlton looked dangerous. But boy did Bowyer suss us out. They dominated the whole of the second half. We were overrun in midfield and Puscas we beyond useless. J...

Re: BFTG - Charlton

Another thing on Rafael's penalty kick routine. I believe he will save a higher than average number of PKs through using it but will look an above average clown on most of the occasions when the player taking the penalty scores. Exactly the same can be said in reverse of Taylor's (and our Pele's) pe...

Re: Club 1871 - the What, When, Where, How, Who & Why Thread

I think the time has come when you have to question this now. Absolutely no noise again yesterday. I'll I could see was over enthusiastic geeks jumping up and down clapping with big smiles in their faces. Charlton out sung them easy. Huddersfield have to be the benchmark if you want to create a 'si...
