Re: The Academy/Development squads watch thread 2015//16

F-T 1-0 As expected Reading fc have not said one word about today’s match !! Maybe have different expectations, but I wouldn't expect anything for an away game on the same day as a first team game. Not even the team on social media ? If i can post it - i’m sure if the club could be ar$ed then they ...

Re: Royals on the Box/Internet Thread

Haven't been able to listen to BBC berks for years on match day since moving to London Then Kent. Even m...

Re: FA Cup 3rd Round Draw

Would like Gillingham away please, but given I've been waiting 10 years I won't hold my breath! Will probably be either Man Utd or another Championship club... Edit - Actually Tottenham home or away would appeal too. Why Gillingham???? Nearest league team. Seen us a few times there (2002-2005) and ...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Wigan Athletic (a) sponsored by a long trek up north

I've watched 74 minutes of this stream, it stops working and we score two straight away... That sounds similar to me. Was out on Saturday and checked the updates every now and then for the first 70 mins or so. Didn't get round to checking after that until pretty much full-time assuming it was going...

Re: Liam Moore Interview Part 2

nothing particularly new, but this Baldock newspaper interview is quite interesting as well - different perspective on Gomes https://www.wokinghampaper.co.uk/interview-reading-striker-sam-baldock-on-struggles-with-jose-gomes-and-new-lease-of-life-under-mark-bowen/ Not sure if some of that was taken...

Re: Nostalgia thread

Playoffs 10th May Wolves A 1-2 14th May Wolves H 0-1 :( - Watched both at mate's. When we scored up at Molineux must admit I did start to get carried away. Even after Forster went off injured at worst I thought we'd get a draw in that game, so to lose the tie 3-1 after that was disappointing... I t...

Re: Nostalgia thread

Got some luck though as was out with mates for the Brighton home game which was also on Sky but wasn't in a pub that was showing the game but another mate was. Think I may have ended up there later but the game had finished by then, so my winning run wasn't ruined! Just discovered that the final re...

Re: Nostalgia thread

I remember listening at home to an excellent midweek 3-1 away win at Sheffield United that season, who were third and very strong at home. But more memorable was going to the following match; Rotherham at home. Rotherham were 6th, largely built off being tough, competitive and effective. It was see...

Nostalgia thread

Inspired by the BBC RB podcast interviews that Adie has been doing I've been looking back at past seasons and thought it was worth having a thread about it. To start here's the games i saw in 2002-2003 which is where it all began for me in terms of watching games (apart from the odd TV game over the...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Luton Town (h) sponsored by Sean Evers

In the 2005 season didn’t we just lose two League games ?Plymouth first game of the season, then Luton away late on ? I seem to recall it was on telly ? Yes, as referenced by me above. I went to both. 1-2 and 3-2 I think It was and Watford and Leeds were the only two teams we didn't beat that season...

Can't say i'm surprised with the lack of coverage on the academy twitter, generally don't expect any coverage of the away games on there so just go straight to Flashscore.

Steve Sidwell interview is up now. Marcus Hahnemann on it's way in a few weeks Just listened to the Sidwell one - more interesting than the Kitson one but then he comes across better, and some of the discussion in Kitson's had already been discussed in a certain book...(though obviously not as spec...

Re: Ejaria vs Siggy

+1 Although i assume you're saying Swift is better. Swift's best moments are better. I think Ejaria looks like a better all round player. There are definitely things Ejaria does better than Swift, but Swift is much better creatively and I don’t think Ejaria offers enough in other areas to make up f...

Re: Ejaria vs Siggy

Ejaria will need to improve his end product (in particular his assists) to be on par with Siggy. IIRC Sig got 30 goals and assists in 09/10. His ability to make space for himself and score from outside the box is similar though. That said, he's ahead of Siggy at the same stage of the season imo. I o...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Swansea City (a) sponsored by Andy Legg & Jason Bowen

Following the BBC updates I didn't see that late goal coming at all! Especially when Swansea have got such a good defensive record. Tbh, I was half waiting for the game to end in the 2nd half so I could do something else with my day.. Our away record doesn't bother me at all, it's the home record th...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Wolverhampton Wanderers (a) sponsored by Sammy Chung

We would have been far better giving Luke Southwood a chance than this clown. He will have played his last game for us tonight. Has Southwood even made it off the bench for Hamilton? Ward would have been a better bet certainly Yeah, thought about Ward. Wonder how he feels given that he played in L2...
