Re: Opposition fans back from the game

Most people do not understand how they interpret information. It’s a common mistake to believe we perceive the outside world and make accurate judgements on the basis of those perceptions. Actually what we do is scan for a few stand-out elements, then match those to a form of template we already hav...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Blackpool (h) sponsored by cup fever

Tricky selection for Bowen. We need to concentrate on the league, but a cup run would be nice. Jao and Moore will be out, plus I would rest Swift and Ovie. Rafael Gunter Morrison Miazga Obita Pele Rino Barret Olise Baldock. Meite This looks about right to me. Maybe Loader somewhere in there? Yep, if ...

Re: BFTT Leeds

You would imagine Leeds will be a Premier League side next season, and yet Reading largely nullified their swift passing all-out attacking style to a small number of good chances. The margin was much smaller than the league table would suggest, and with just a little bit of extra luck we could have ...

Not what I expected or wanted. But now it's happened I'm hoping it all works out, and will no doubt be loudly proclaiming my membership in his "Barmy Army" should we go on anything like a decent run.

I could probably make a few half decent recommendations to a manager. Doesn't make me a manager.

Re: Next Manager

Yeah, because Gomes’ record was great before he joined us! Al these bitter fans that their hero Gomes has gone are pathetic. The bloke failed, simple as that. Give the new guy a chance FFS. Hate the self entitlement of our fans. He’s now going to be under pressure from day 1 which is just embarrass...

Re: Next Manager

Look at Clement's coaching experience - didn't translate into the managerial role too well.

Re: Next Manager

Top of the list of attributes required in a new manager at Reading - experience.

Bowen - no relevant experience.

Bowen - chose himself, effectively.

I think that may be why many people will be massively disappointed if this happens.

Re: Next Manager

Bowen. Been in football a long time at many clubs and has never been a manager. What makes anyone anywhere think now would be a good time to try it? Clearly what we need in a manager experience (obviously good experience, not repeated experience of failing) more than anything else. No point in spend...

Re: GOMES OUT!

Can we stop sacking managers? Seriously we need to give the manager a chance, surely? We could do with hiring one first. I’d have agreed with you before the Blackburn and Fulham match leon But he looks hopelessly out of his depth. There are decent managers available. Tonight was as bad a performanc...

Re: BFT ???????????????????????????????????????????

Fulham's passing was crisp and neat, their movement off the ball excellent, and their niggly fouling and play acting unsurpassed. Reading were slow, inaccurate, sloppy, weak, disorganised, lethargic, incompetent and naive. I would include Puscas along with Rafael, Meite and Rihnamota (and maybe Yiad...

Re: BFT whatever the hell that was

Pele (I hate calling him that) was not our worst player: he was generally OK, but it's hard to be the defensive midfielder winning the ball when the so-called creative players just stand around getting marked out of the game. Yiadom can't cross like Obita can - few players outside the top six in La ...

Re: BFTG - Charlton

Charlton were excellent. First half was well balanced, and if we had scored when Puscas was through one on one with their keeper, or the shot that hit the bar had been a few centimetres lower, we may have carried on in the same style and picked up the points. Second half we came out lethargic, error...

Re: BFTG - Cardiff

No Reading player put in less than an 8 out of ten performance. Pretty much everything went right. The thing that seems to have changed most is the confidence of players to play their way out of a situation, rather than just trying to release the ball as quickly as possible, thereby putting their te...

Head says 14th to 16th.

Heart says - if all the stars align, the youngsters step up, and the addition of an in-form goal scorer and a Lewis Baker type midfielder - 6th.

Again, you’re ruining this with a non-fish

An eel is any ray-finned fish belonging to the order Anguilliformes , which consists of four suborders, 20 families, 111 genera, and about 800 species.

The club isn't holding Barrow back. It's more about the structure of the fee and his wages from what I can gather.

Re: Promotion team 'must haves'

Loan players were once considered a hindrance. I notice that has changed in the second half of this season.
