Re: Champions League/Europa League 2019/20

Liverpool lost at Napoli last year and have done this year. They qualified out of a group that also included PSG - they will pick up 10 to 12 points from the Salzburg and Genk fixtures and likely beat Napoli at Anfield to top the group.

Re: 2019/2020 FA Cup

3rd QF is 40 ties 4th (and final) QF adds the conference to the 40 remaining sides, to give 32 games and then things get serious. I presume one team will get a bye in the 1st round proper after Bury’s demise rather than there being some “jigging” about by the FA like having a “lucky loser” be re-in...

Re: BFTG Boro

Games like this happen - could easily have been 2-0 to us on another day frustrating but nothing to get too concerned about - a win against Blackburn is needed now though else the Swansea and Fulham games suddenly look much, much harder. The real concern at the minute is our ability to comeback from...

Re: Nova leaves on permanent deal

More club goals than Puscas career-to-date whilst playing at an equal or higher level I like how you specified club goals, as Puscas' record internationally, is very good. At senior level? Or U23s? Loader’s U18/21 record is very good but we’ve yet to see any evidence of that quality in the 1st team...

Re: Nova leaves on permanent deal

So you wanted him to be playing ahead of Puscas, Joao and Meite? Have a day off. More club goals than Puscas career-to-date whilst playing at an equal or higher level I like how you specified club goals, as Puscas' record internationally, is very good. Looking at club goals - according to Transferm...

Re: Nova leaves on permanent deal

Novakovich was done here the moment he went on loan last summer - my only surprise is that a top flight Dutch club weren't prepared to fork out the cash for him - as if a 2nd division Italian side can afford him it us unlikely to have been more than a million or so. I have literally no idea how good...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Charlton Athletic (h) sponsored by Dave Shipperley

Yes a minutes applause will be very comforting wont it? Bury were expelled from the league on the 27th August. but I don't see why we need to give them a minutes applause for that.. I get it for a death of somebody or a former player or whatever but you cant just start applauding for any old thing ...

Re: Any more out the door?

Looks like McCleary has been saying his goodbyes at the training ground today - so either off somewhere, maybe Oxford is back on?, or had his contract paid up.

Re: Rival Watch

Tis quite interesting! I always wonder how good Bond actually is. He was rated well enough by Watford fans as I recall but hes never really had a proper chance at a club yet. The man is 26. Maybe hes destined to be a back up keeper. Peterborough fans spoke quite highly of him during his loan there ...

Re: Champions League/Europa League 2019/20

I don't mind it tbf, yo do get some entertaining games and it is good for a watch on a Thursday night when there isn't anything really going on. If Reading ever got into it, I'd be wanting to go to every game, home and away. Just think there are far too many teams in the thing. The fact Champions L...

Funny that Ali has gone there given that their back up keeper was none other than Jonathan Bond. He must be sick of Ali taking his place. Tis quite interesting! Re: Have we sold the Mad Stad to the owners/someone else?

Its why my beloved FGR will probably never get higher then L1 as DTW said. I doubt we will see any new teams up in the championship anytime soon. We will see new teams up there - Fleetwood look like making it in the next year or two. As mentioned, it is not the getting there that is the problem but...

Which has often been part of the argument of if we made a mistake there by not identifying that he would make a better Right back and pushing him back like we did with Murty.

Re: Generic clubs in financial crisis Thread

If I don't continue to have funds to pay for my house, I lose it. The EFL is basically a private trade organisation. They can stipulate whatever they want as terms of membership. They can say that continued membership is dependant on a review by an auditor in the event of a change of ownership. It'...

Re: Any more out the door?

I think i've just been IanRoyalled. Countering an argument about a lack of depth at full back with a list comprised mainly of midfielders and players who never made it at Championship level. What were you saying the other week about signing defenders to do a defenders job etc etc etc and not using ...

Re: Rival Watch

Not sure if mentioned elsewhere but Ali Al-Habsi has signed for West Brom. Glad we didnt have to play him! Good singing. Not sure he is coming in to be number 1 tbh. Yeah, be very surprised if Al-Habsi on a 1 year deal is coming in to replace a 6.5m summer signing - will likely sit on the bench awa...

Re: Rival Watch

Two consecutive heavy defeats on the road for Brum since they rode their luck to win at Brentford on the 1st day, they look clueless going forward, I reckon they should have signed Puscas. On this evidence they look at bottom 6 side. They've been threatening to drop for a while now and seem to be a...

Re: Champions League/Europa League 2019/20

How does Chelsea get into pot 1 ahead of Real Madrid? Europa League Champions. that is just  Part of UEFA's push to make the Europa League more high profile (though it already is outside of England) - not only getting a CL spot but standing a good chance of getting a favourable draw as well - ...
