Re: Rival Watch

paultheroyal Am I right in saying that a win tonight and Luton / Barnsley draw we are mathematically safe?

Bowen has done alright hasn't he? Some turnaround.

Assuming Wigan don't get their points deduction cancelled/suspended then yes we will be.

Re: MATCHWATCH : Huddersfield Town (h) sponsored by Craig Maskell

I don't expect being 12th for 24 hours to be mentioned as it is completely irrelevant. Not as a target for the players it isn't Do they get medals for it? The "Congratulations, you were 12th for 24 hours" medal? Ridiculous. Ah got it. You're just choosing to be obtuse. Good day to you sir.

Old Man Andrews Wow what an achievement......

What, do you expect to go from 20th to 5th or something?

Re: MATCHWATCH : Huddersfield Town (h) sponsored by Craig Maskell

Target for Tuesday has to be to get in the top half. If we win, with Bristol and QPR not playing until Weds we can jump ahead of both and be 12th for 24 hours at least. Wow what an achievement...... Baby steps. After 3 or so seasons wallowing in the bottom 3rd, it would be a sign we are making some...

Re: Ups & Downs 19/20

Watford at home to Norwich on Tuesday. A win for Watford and Bournemouth are almost certain to go down as they also have a tough run in. Was going to say Villa would also have a very outside chance of staying up as they play West Ham on the last day, but realistically they would need West Ham and W...

Re: Playoffs 2019/20

What a great oxf*rd game we had tonight. Wycombe gave Fleetwood a pasting, 2 red cards and missed penalty. I would love to see them up in the league. Looking like a Wembley showdown between Wycombe and Oxford at the moment. Oxford drew 1-1 at Pompey. Was a good result for Oxford Pompey only lost on...

Interesting* midweek games. If Barnsley beat Luton on Tuesday night, Boro will start at Millwall only above them on GD.

Re: Rival Watch

Lost their last two, but they should be ok, especially if the Wigan deduction is upheld. That's the real point. They only have to finish above the bottom two and within 11 points of Wigan. Wigan would be 6 points behind after the penalty at the moment, so 'Boro probably only need to beat us and She...

If Wycombe do come up, could it be a step too far like Yeovil and they and up overstretchibg themselves and tumble back down the divisions?

Re: Reading players out of contract in summer 2020

Wigan scandal could be a wake up call for Reading. Similar income/ expenditure problems. Same type of overseas investor, same quiet owners not involving locals and supporters. Same leakage of talent. Only difference is Wigan are recent top performers. Our lot are still playing template stuff with n...

windermereROYAL Maybe a step too far for Colin this time.

New manager bounce gone after 1 game?

Millwall
Bristol
Us
Cardiff
Weds

Think they will think 7pts is feasible which may be enough.

Re: Back from I Follow Luton

From Despair To Where? On thing I would say about Moore is he is no longer absolutely crucial to how we play. If Moore (or Swift for that matter) leaving meant that we were in with a shout of signing Pele, I'd see that as a fair trade.

Can't disagree with that statement.

Re: Back from I Follow Luton

No problem with Moore but feels like the right time for player and club to move on whilst we can still probably command a decent fee for him. He seems to be getting stale here and his career needs a new push and we need to freshen up the defence. Next season is Morrison and McIntyre to start for me ...

Re: Back from I Follow Luton

Mentioned it on the other thread, but under Bowen we bounce back from bad defeats. We've convinced ourselves that every time we lose a couple of games we're doomed, but since Bowen took over, we've managed to shake that off. We'll finish top 6 next season. 44 points from 30 games under Bowen isn't ...

Re: Rival Watch

Bristol City sack Lee Johnson, I get they've been in a slump but shit, they've been overperformaing all season. Bit more than a slump. Won 4 on the spin back in Jan but since then 5/33 and more recently 2/27. Could add an interesting* twist to the relegation battle as they play Hull, Boro and Stoke...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Luton Town (a) sponsored by Sean Evers

Great win and performance against a poor but recently improved Luton. We need to take this form from today and put a run together in the next 5 games. Likely to be no more than 6 weeks until the new season so ending in form could see momentum continue to the next more than would happen over a usual ...
