Re: The Non - League thread

Confirmed. All football below the National League has been ended. All results of this season have been expunged. Therefore no relegation from National Leagues North and South this season and everyone will be they were this season at the start of next season whenever that actually happens. https://w...

Re: The Non - League thread

Royals and Racers Step 5 and 6 season is over http://severnsport.co.uk/?p=13491
Steps 3 and 4 are expected to follow suit.

National League have asked the FA to assist them in cancelling the rest of the season. What this means to Barrow's chances of getting promoted is unclear.

Winston Biscuit Birmingham ask their players to take a 50% pay cut for the next 4 months

Think all Championship clubs are in the process of arranging that . Brum just the first. Players will be paid back the extra once football resumes as their salaries are protected I believe.

This reads just like a story a journalist has to write to keep employed when there is no actual football to talk about - these will only get worse the longer the shutdown continues.

grey_squirrel The mortality rate if you are not old, unfit / unhealthy or ill is practically zero.

Yes but it is not as simple aa live/die. A young healthy person can end up having their life seriously changed if they contracr it.

No-one should panic but take this shit seriously.

Re: Coronavirus outbreak

School closures aren't to protect the kids really, more reduce the chance of them spreading it to, say, their grandparents.

Re: Coronavirus outbreak

Deaths will always lag behind cases as well, as it takes quite a few days before people die. And it's inevitable that the number of actual cases is far higher than the number of reported cases, simply because many with milder symptoms won't get tested, but can still spread the disease. According to...

Re: Coronavirus outbreak

Wow Uk deaths jump from 11 to 21 in a single day 90,000 die every year from the Flu, but please do keep buying into the fear-mongering being peddled left and right. In the UK, 1700 died (est. 34k global deaths) n the last flu season we have records for. If more or less people end up dying from this...

Re: Coronavirus outbreak

It’s potentially very messy. There remains the prospect of the games being played behind closed doors just to bring the season to a conclusion. I don’t like the idea of points being carried over to next season. The only way this season gets finished, IMO, is with games played at training grounds no...

Re: Coronavirus outbreak

It`s being reported the EFL will suspend the league today. Seems to be, they will if the PL does but won't make the call themselves. Although there are a number of people at clubs stating they are unhappy at the prospect of playing. Peterborough chairman saying they do not want to go to Bolton tomo...

The Govt are now talking about cancelling sporting fixtures but not just yet. I think Saturday will be our last attended game of the season. Presumably senior Scottish football will be behind closed doors/postponed from next week https://metro.co.uk/2020/03/12/scotland-bans-mass-gatherings-500-figh...

Re: Generic clubs in financial crisis Thread

Crazily, going by that thread, they haven't breached FFP. I know I'm late to the party here, but how do you figure that ? Isn't the limit £40m over 3 years ? If so Villa have breached that in one year alone, almost breached in a second and it doesn't even show the third. Their two year value is ove...

Re: Do we dare to dream?

Not a chance - people are comfortable that we are not going down as Charlton amongst others will need to pick up 9 points in 9 games to draw level but think we have a chance to pick up 8 points on Preston over the same period? And even if we do, there are 7 other teams who we would need to signific...

Re: Do we dare to dream?

Nope. End of. Never say never. WNG, WNG and it becomes a 16-1 shot. Win 3 on the trot and we’d be 4/5 points off with 6 to play but with HUGE momentum You need 70 to half any chance. That takes seven wins and a draw out of 9 Just to have a CHANCE NAH It is sometimes less than 70 - didn't Blackpool ...
