Re: Generic clubs in financial crisis Thread

Not the beginning of the end but the beginning of a move towards a more sustainable approach. England does not need 92 professional football clubs (more if you include the National League) and it is about time the structure was looked at. Should Macclesfield have a football club? yes Does it need to...

Re: Generic clubs in financial crisis Thread

EFL requesting documentation and assurances from Macclesfield Town by 4pm tomorrow else they will start an investigation into them under the same process that lead to Bury being expelled. Comes as Macc players have trouble getting paid each month and 1st team players refused to play in the FA Cup de...

Re: LOLiverpooLOL - Next Season

Having finally seen the TAA handball incident, I think, on balance, the ref got it right. His arm wasn't way up away from his body, the ball appears to hit his side first and his arm didn't move towards the ball. If that happened in a Reading game, I'd be mightily pissed off if that was given again...

Re: The Manager Sack Race/Merry-go-Round

Looks like the Cardiff fans are happy to see him go, but with a good sentiment - realising it is time for someone new but acknowledging what he did for them. Guess he’ll rock up in the next half decent Championship vacancy - unless he finally decides to retire I think it might be the latter tbh, I ...

think sustainable is a good word for our current form. Found one of the most interesting comments from Moore about the previous set up as 'having to be absolutely on top of their game to get the win' or something similar. It feels we can play averagely but still get the 3 points comfortably with th...

stealthpapes Given that Haland has scored so many goals, do you not think that that table might just be out of date?

Haaland is 5th according to this:

Re: The idiots of Twitter thread

This tweet pissed me off the other day, it’s a perfect example of the ridiculous contradictory knee jerk bollocks spouted on Twitter. https://twitter.com/abbykins2010/status/1192357366827823104?s=21 Not sure what the issue is with that? Luton are the worst team in the league, we were at home, it wo...

Re: Rival Watch

3rd of the matches played- who looks as if they could be for the drop ? Barnsley look woeful and on Saturday’s performance Luton could join them. Think Wigan could join them. Barnsley are done I think. Not won since the opening day and bar the odd late equaliser it's a surprise when they pick up ev...

Re: LOLiverpooLOL - Next Season

As HB said, if City can't handle a couple of injuries given their essentially unlimited wealth then they need to look at their recruitment outside of the first 11. Yesterday's result does not confirm anything but it would be a surprise for a team that hasn't tasted defeat in the league to lose 3 gam...

Re: BFTG - Luton

Thought it was interesting that Howe was on the bench as Right back sub. With Bowen saying that those that work hard during training will get selected, does that mean that Gunter isn't training well or even interested? I don't think he's injured. Baldock and McCLeary are getting selected as they ar...

Re: The Manager Sack Race/Merry-go-Round

Stoke fans not too impressed looking at their boards. Worried they are going down the Sunderland route of firing a manager and then turning to a relatively successful international manager to fix the problems when they aren't used to day to day management any more. Good record at Shamrock Rovers, to...

Re: VAR

Like someone wants it all to fail. Or like it doesn't really work very well in such a fluid sport? I know it was deemed to have worked ok at the World Cup, but did it really? I remember a number of decisions that weren't given England's way when I think they should've been and it just wasn't given ...

Re: Sone Aluko to China!

Well, it depends how they classify winger. For example, he was often called a winger at Fulham but he wasn’t. He was more of a right forward/right attacking midfielder. Sounds pedantic but there’s quite a big difference Erm. He played most of his games their on the Right Wing. He played 11 games as...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Luton Town (h) sponsored by Sean Evers

Luton have nearly sold out their allocation of 2219. So it should be a decent atmosphere on Saturday. This really is a game we need to be winning. It is. But I'm concerned about our lack of ability to get back to back wins Luton play a narrow 4-4-2 diamond. Obita and Yiadom will need to be on their...

Re: Sone Aluko to China!

I think there is more than a strong possibility that Mannone will be brought back into the squad for the last 6 months unless we get a good offer esp. if Rafael is out with a calf injury. Would expect a GK order of 1. Rafael 2. Mannone 3. Walker with Virginia returned to Everton in January as that j...

Re: Sone Aluko to China!

Beijing Rehne’s last game of the season is against Dalian Yifang on 1st December. After that I presume Sone will return to Reading and be available for the Xmas period. Be interesting to see if he does become involved and if so whether things work out better for him under a manager who is a little ...

Re: Rival Watch

Yeah Eze came to mind earlier, forgot about him before. He’d be right up there Isn't he more of a winger? I was thinking along the lines of central players when I compiled the lsit. He is down as an attacking midfielder (Left, Right, Centre) on WS? For clarity, I have taken the 5 highest rated midf...

Re: VAR

Part of me really thinks there needs to be a margin of error with offsides, because something like this really shouldn't be offside. Put simply it should be has he got an advantage. If Firminio's armpit has been 0.5cm back from where it was, he would still have scored so he hasn't gained any advant...
