Re: The Non - League thread

Four Of Clubs Results from Sat 14th Dec

FAT Qual R3 Replay

16 Hornchurch 1-0 Dulwich Hamlet 454

Dulwich are struggling at the moment. There are rumblings on their board along the lines that maybe their (once much loved and respected) manager may have to go if he can't turn things around soon.

Re: The Non - League thread

Winchester City 3-0 Willand Rovers – hat-trick for Barron as City stay 3rd ] My first game for a while. Their captain got sent off giving away the pen that gave our skipper his hat trick. Their player manager then showed solidarity by getting sent off himself, though he was only on the bench at the...

Re: The Non - League thread

Interesting interview with Terry Brown, Basingstoke chairman on the Non League podcast regarding their pretty dire situation. They have a 30 year covenant to play at the Camrose ground. The current owner cannot obtain planning permission for development there unless he funds their new ground at Win...

Re: The Non - League thread

"Martin Kuhl has departed his role as Manager of Basingstoke Town" One point (against us at our ground  )from 6 games in the league, and an early exit against lower league opposition in the FA Cup, so no real surprise. Basingstoke clearly have problems at the moment. A sorry state o...

...and finally (until next w/e 8) - which is the opening round of the Vase) here's the B/H round-up: Basingstoke Town 1-1 Winchester City – looks like honours even in front of 366 – both goals in the first half ] Not going to pretend I wasn't disappointed, but Winch were missing some key players, s...

Re: The Non - League thread

.. Basingstoke Town v Winchester City @ Winchester City 'lodgers' v 'landlords' ] Hoping for a big crowd for this, albeit that Winchester City fans are likely to be outnumbered by our lodgers. After a good start in the league, we were disappointing in the cup on Friday, with a few players out for o...

Re: The Non - League thread

Preview of this w/e ...just as a minor warning for anyone pondering one of the Fri/Sun Cup ties : the Beeb and the FA web sites have made a complete and utter ph£ck up of posting the non-Saturday PM ties - even showing games that have never been considered to be candidates to shift. ... they are ju...

To the music of the song GLORIA by the group THEM E-J-A-R-I-A EJARIA, EJARIA, EJARIA, EJARIA If you want to extend it, the words of the song can be easily changed to fit your needs!!! I'm not suggesting we do the full Patti Smith version of Gloria, but.. Here he comes Walking down the pitch Here he...

Re: The Non - League thread

Saw the highlights of Maidenhead's game in the pub - good win for them. Winchester City got our first ever point against Bristol Manor Farm - we were 3-1 down, away, with 15 mins left, but came away with a draw against a fancied side. I'll take that. Meanwhile, Basingstoke Town had 268 at our ground...

Re: The Non - League thread

News from Basingstoke. All still subject to league approval, but hopefully this will bring a few quid in for Winchester City. Note that BTFC have a "big" friendly against Luton Town, scheduled to be played at Winchester City, presumably regardless of the league's approval. https://btfc.co....

Re: The Non - League thread

Cinderford 0 - 0 Winchester City It wasn't to be - Winch failed to win so Cinderford got the last play off spot. From the Twitter comments, it seems we were within the width of a goal post of grabbing a late winner, but the truth is it was earlier in the season, when we slumped to 15th at one point,...

Re: The Non - League thread

FAO mx , are you planning on going to Cinderford? It's 'interesting'... No, not planning on going. I'm not committed enough to bother with away games and its a 'king long way. Might go to a play off game, if we get that far. We've won more games away than at home, so the prospect of three away game...

Re: The Non - League thread

Fair play Hungerford. Bloody decent result. Down at Winch, we gave champions Blackfield and Langley a guard of honour onto the pitch, then beat them 3-0. :D Really good game, and sets things up nicely for next week's trip to Cinderford, for the (as I predicted a couple of weeks ago  ) "pl...

Re: The Non - League thread

Down here in the Southern League South South, today's results mean that Blackfield and Langley are Champions. Hopefully, they'll all go out tonight and get hammered in celebration, carry on into the small hours of Sunday, and come to Winchester City on Monday with god-almighty hangovers, as realisti...

Re: The Non - League thread

Winchester City 1-3 Bristol Manor Farm Disappointing to say the least. As I said above, on paper this was the easiest of our remaining games. We just never got it together, despite going ahead. That said, two of their goals were massive deflections, and they never looked particularly better than us....

Yate Town 3-2 Winchester City [i]– City beaten at 2nd place Yate, drop to 6th just outside POs but have a game in hand - host AFC Totton on Tue night. Winch beat Totton 2-1 (I didn't make it), so we are back in the play offs. We have a tough run in though, and need to win at home on Saturday, when ...

Re: The Non - League thread

Winch got beat 3-2 at Yate - granted they are second, but we were ahead, they had their captain sent off and we still lost, Travelling fans say we didn't deserve to lose, but suddenly we are out of the playoffs and our run in looks tough.

But I saw Oli Bailey in Sainsbury on Sunday!!!!!

Re: The Non - League thread

Street FC have resigned from the Southern League. They are 10th in the wonderfully named Evo-Stick Southern Division One South, and say there's no financial crises or ground upgrade issues, so it sounds odd. I assume it's effective at the end of this season, and results stand. (we've beaten them 5-0...
