Re: FA Cup away day memories

Man City in 93. 1-1 and deserved the replay. Another step in McGhee's revolution. Yes remember that game did James Lambert score first . I was there and as usual around that time well lubricated, I seem to remember it was a Scotty Taylor goal from distance? The crowd was only about 11,000, City fan...

Re: FA Cup away day memories

It's been so long that we've had to play two games to get here. Just working back through the seasons and there's some where the 4th round felt like a proper cup run. Losing a 2nd round replay vs York, then losing to them again the next season: desolation. EDIT: 1997 Souness vs Stewards - frozen pi...

Re: How times change

Success brings plastics, it always has. Even Ipswich had plastics in the early 80s. City is a strange one really. Having worked in Manchester for most of the last 20 years I have seen their fall and rise and I know lots of City fans who to a one are decent, knowledgable, self-depreciating football f...

Re: Rival Watch

I still remember some poor sod who travelled all the way up on a supporters coach to our away game at Oldham in about 1987 on a Friday night in February. Boundary Park aka Ice Station Zebra, is not warm at any time of year but this bloke turned up in his espadrilles, and decided to stay on the warm ...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Preston North End (h) sponsored by a new hope

It will be nice just to get to being a mid table side again as I am getting sick over the last couple of years of hearing bottom feeder clubs like Brentford, Preston, and Bristol Shitty coming out with the "should be beating teams like Reading" comments. You expect the Billy Big Balls comm...

paultheroyal
FiNeRaIn , no one cares about the women's game.

80,000 sell out for the Germany game at Wembley coming up might disagree with this view.

How do the ticket prices compare with the England men’s team’s home fixtures?

Re: BBC clickbaiting women's football....

A big plus one from me too Fine Rain. The BBC have an obsession with raising the profile of women's football. I can't help cynically thinking that as well as being massively "right on" politically and culturally at the moment it is because they can afford the rights to the women's game, so...

Re: Fake hoops

How much are seats in the home end? That's what we should do in theses situations, pick a section of the home end and all buy tickets in the same area together. Maybe the message would get through if we kept doing that. They'll be plenty of empty seats in that run down dump.

Re: Anton took money!!

Don't get my wrong I am as indebted to SJM as all Reading fans should be, but around that time I started to think he was properly losing it with his "me too" moment with Paloma Faith.

Re: Bristol City (A)

Also, the club could say that members will get £10 off their fifth home game ticket purchased so effectively the membership costs you nothing if you come to at least five home games in a season.

Re: Bristol City (A)

The thing is most of the clubs in the Championship don't charge their own fans similar prices S they do away fans. They get round this by member's rates or dirt cheap season tickets, so the away fans paying £30+ per game are subsidising the home fans' entrance prices. Maybe we too should have a memb...

Re: BFTG Huddersfield Away

Disappointed to here Dick Habbin's overheard conversation on the way out but one ignorant lard arse I'm sure isn't representative of Udders fans generally. Thought they were a good bunch from my experience at Wembley. Couple of points on their attendances, they have one of the cheapest season ticket...

Re: Huddersfield (A)

It did boil my piss slightly to see that they were selling tickets in the home end for a £1 for our game, so, as Deborah Meaden would say, for that reason I'm out....£30 FFS!

Re: Opposition fans back from the game

I think the two seasons they then spent in the third tier until they came back under Ossie Ardiles and the play offs is the only time they have spent outside the top two divisions in their 150+ year history. I remember (just about!) turning up to the Hawthorns for our away fixture midweek there in 9...

Re: BFTG - Cardiff

One of the best parts about Sunday for me was beating the man they love to hate's team fairly and squarely with no contentious decisions or extenuating circumstances to blame for his tactical ineptness. So much so he had to blame his own decision of putting their two remaining subs on at half time i...

Re: CONFIMRED - Phil Parkinson & Jimmy Quin

I've so many great memories of this era. That season 92-93, the second half of it when the team seemed to gel, was the birth of the modern RFC we have today. Kevin Dillon seemed to be rooted in the centre circle pulling the strings like a midfield general with pinpoint accurate passing. Without Mark...
