Re: MATCHWATCH : Norwich City (h) sponsored by as tough as it gets

I would rather Melvin-Lambert was now given a chance rather than persevere with Baldock. He has no attacking instinct at all which isn’t great when he’s playing the line striker role. I agree 100%. We could’ve done with someone raw with a bit of pace up front as we were always going to be trying to...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Birmingham City (h) sponsored by an utter shambles

I think you have to give Birmingham City more credit for the way they closed us down all game. We looked a bit leggy and the passing wasn’t as crisp as it has been, but fair play to them they worked their socks off and scored two good goals. Then game management/shithousery take your pick, and we di...

Re: Rival Watch

If a load of slobbering Phil Mitchell lookalike gammon Brexiteers want to boo the taking of the knee gesture, I won’t judge them, only their lord and saviour Nigel Farage can do that.

Re: MATCHWATCH : Sheffield Wednesday (a) sponsored by Jack Witham

I think we should go all out to try and get an early goal because otherwise it could be a very cagey and defensive game. If we score early they will have to open up and show some attacking ambition, and with it gaps for us to further pick them off.

Mr Optimist I fully expect Bournemouth to be treated to some world class shithousery from Preston for the next half an hour now they are 2-0 up.

2-3 now. Hopefully they can hold on.

They did! Thanks to some top class shithousery by Patrick Bauer, lovely stuff.

Re: Opposition fans back from the game

A good reflection on their fans that. I can't say I'd be as polite if we got a spanking from them. I think for some of their fans, who didn’t agree with the appointment of Holden, when they get a poor result/performance it suits their agenda. I appreciate I don’t see them every week but they were o...

Re: How many Managers have you been through ?

McGhee was the start of our upwards trajectory imho. That was when we started to look upwards to dreams unknown in Reading. Absolutely agree. It might not be a popular view but the brief Porterfield era between Branfoot and McGhee while not spectacular results wise and mid table obscurity, was also...

I wish that kuntstick Scott Sinclair wasn’t playing for them. Nailed on to score against us, as sure as night follows day.

I’ve found that drinking helps. I have a lovely bottle of Absolut Lime from Asda, a bargain for £16, lined up ready to help me “soak up the big match atmosphere” tonight.

Re: Opposition fans back from the game

If I remember correctly Si Forest lives in Bracknell, to prove my point from the other day!

I am not sure if anyone still mentions it at all but Forest won the European Cup, twice, 40 years ago. but sadly they haven’t played in the top flight this century.

Re: BTFT - Blackburn

What struck me most last night was how comfortable our players look on the ball these days. They don’t mind receiving the ball when tightly marked and we keep and use the ball so well with players with great touch. For a player like Olise to have that ability and air of calmness on the ball is unner...

Re: Opposition fans back from the game

Usually the people that seemed to have an unhealthy and irrational hatred of our beloved Biscuitmen are fans of clubs who’s best days are in the rear view mirror a few years behind, they live nearby and among Reading fans, often in soulless outposts of our support like Basingstoke and Bracknell, and...

Re: Rival Watch

I think Bournemouth deserved a point but they also could have had 2 sent off. Always seems to be so feisty and contentious against them! Goodman annoyed me - kept going on about the high quality - premier league sides yawn. Wasn't that good from what I saw I thought it wasn’t the great game that Sk...

Yeah, but he's an idiot. I'd rather win the Play Offs than the League anyway... though maybe not this year. But that would be so typically Reading FC, play-off final past failures not completely laid to rest because the winning final is played behind closed doors! Definitely getting way ahea...

Re: Football - The Covid Years

It is an awful deal. The bailout looks good on paper, but with the ability of the top 6 clubs to change the way the money is distributed on a whim, they’ll have changed the terms within 2 seasons. It is nothing more than a power grab by the richest clubs in the country. Far from saving the pyramid,...
