Re: MATCHWATCH : Huddersfield Town (h) sponsored by Craig Maskell

Zip Awful game. Swift not at his best but head and shoulders above the rest in creativity. We don’t have any decent wingers.

In our last match one of our wingers scored four goals.

Thought Puscas had pulled the chip off. Perspective was misleading.

Didn’t realise Huddersfield had Emile Smith Rowe. Could be dangerous.

Re: Would this ex-players team get promoted?

Ake and Mariappa are the two best options at centre back but probably not the best pairing given that they’re both tiddlers. Similarly with Murray and Long (although Long probably isn’t even the fourth best option any more) who both lack mobility. McCarthy Stacey, Ake, Dickie, Bertrand Carrico, Nor...

Re: Squad for 2020/21

This may be an unpopular opinion but for me Barrow is a better player than Ejaria, albeit a very different one, and also complements our other players better. His directness suits Meite and Swift in different ways. Ovie might well have a better career in the long run and clearly has talent, but he h...

Sutekh Reading are being linked with a move for 19 year old Portuguese keeper.

I’m having terrible flashbacks.

Re: Would this ex-players team get promoted?

Also I didn't give too much thought to systems-it was a 10-minute consideration as a bit of fun, not a full critique ,so Long and Murray were considered at their best as Antonio was considered as the player he is now and not as the player when with us. BTW OMA and Seth might want to reconsider the ...

Re: Squad for 2020/21

Howe wanted out though right? Can we stop pretending he would have been fine as number 2? Or even ready?? I certainly heard that there was a bit more to the move than we just decided he wasn’t good enough. My source isn’t good enough to say more, and there was nothing untoward involved. The impress...

Re: Squad for 2020/21

Is anyone else struggling with the point of Araruna btw? Defensive midfielder who can play RB. Signed when we released one of our young back up RBs. Has had very few minutes, split between RB and CM. Looked lost in midfield to me and handy at RB. We're now apparently converting a young CB to RB. It...

Re: Squad for 2020/21

One big failure in recent years has been blocking the path to the first team for our academy players with average, overpaid dross, it was a joke, I think it was Dutch Brian or Stam I can't remember who talked about the importance in recruitment to leave the path open for our young players and then ...

Re: Back from I Follow Luton

If four goals only gets you 9/10 then something is wrong. Meite 10/10 for me. McIntyre was very good in his own half and got a little unlucky a couple of times when he went up for corners. Aside from kicking the ball against a Luton player at the start of the second half, he looked every bit the fir...

Osho has been training at right back recently.

I couldn’t care less who the captain is. I’m sure Swift will do a good job.

Snowball

Lower West Ejaria slows the game down. Short passess, no shots, few crosses. Beginning to wonder what contribution he actually makes to the team.

Same here, Harper like.

HOW DID WE GET ON WITH HARPER IN MIDFIELD?

We got relegated

A goal or assist every 2.7 matches. Just about good enough but not pulling up any trees. Probably at his level.

Re: BFIFollow Brentford

Ever since Ejaria arrived on loan there have been no big doubts about his talent but there are doubts about wtf he actually is. Is he a winger? A box to box midfielder? An attacking midfielder? Nobody can work it out. Suspect one day something will click either for him or for a manager and then he’l...

Re: Next seasons kit choice?

Tbh I’m more interested in away kits because they’re so unpredictable. Some faves: - African Violet (by far our best) - Red with gold trim - Black and grey hoops - White with green trim (09/10) - Black with red trim (10/11, 13/14 or ideally 14/15) Not faves: - orange - yellow - White - plain black o...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Luton Town (a) sponsored by Sean Evers

Olise should be coming off the bench to make a difference late on. I think he’d find more space against tired legs. I’d like to see (for interest mostly) Masika and McCleary on the wings, Meite or Puscas through the middle, and a midfield of Ejaria, Swift, and Rinomhota or Pele. It might not work bu...

Re: Swift to... Southampton

I remembered earlier that John Fleck has been a success at United so upon reflection I think Swift would be fine there.

Think Norwood is under less pressure to run as he’s their answer to Pirlo or Carrick. But I’ve never thought of Swift as particularly slow - he just isn’t very “busy”.

Re: Swift Offer

 UR&G in these current times, you can't blame a club for going in with a low offer - Remember when we sold Le Fondre for £1.6m because we had a tax bill to pay. If we have to sell to balance the books and nobody else is offering anything for anyone then we might have to take it seriously,...
