Re: Rumour - Matty Jacob (LB)

Interesting one. He would cost money unless Hull agree to cancel the 3 year contract he signed on 1 March 2024. He also has a Reading connection as his grandfather was the defender Geoff Barker (below) who started at Hull but played 50 games or so under Charlie Hurley in 1975 and 1976 before being ...

Re: Squad for 2025-2026

And already people downplaying what a loss he'll be. Could be way off, but felt like our worst performances/defeats last season came when he was injured. As big a loss as Bindon imo, and losing both at the same time is a serious problem. Yes, absolutely. Lets see who we sign though, but if we're re...

Re: Noel Hunt Confrimed

Just how and why is anyone surprised?! Selles knew the risks and the territory. He kept them up and did wonders with us. He has two big ticks on his CV. Football is a merciless game. I wouldn't be surprised if Hunt is replaced. SJM "surprisingly" binned Evans for Branfoot in 1991 after ta...

Re: Squad for 2025-2026

We've got an auto promotion level midfield and goalkeeper under contract. Fascinating to see the calibre of the rest of the signings - if we are similar strength to last year with an out and out striker all year we'll go up. The other big thing is that he definitely had good championship offers - h...

Defs a yes in league 1.

Lost a year with ACL injury and always felt after then Ince never really fancied playing him; think Noel would bring the best out of him.

Re: Charlie Savage to Wrexham

This is a non news story regurgitated from last week by a Wales paper....the quote from Savage is a non quote as it says Savage is "believed" to want a move to the champ to get back in the Wales squad.

He only made the full squad once.....was a back up player and players pulled out.

Re: Charlie Savage to Wrexham

Would be a big miss but we have Elliot returning to fitness and if it allows us to play Craig in his natural DM position i wouldn't be to worried. Would leave us Elliot, Wing, Craig and Knibbs in the Middle with U23s as back up. All good, buuuut we really don't want ro be losing him. I'd rather hav...

I wonder how he covers his period with us and WBA? His CV must have more BS in it than Rachael Reeves's.

Re: On this day......

Yes - final game was yesterday with Oldham back in the league. The way that game went had a remarkable similarity to our play off game V Walsall....1-0 to us at halftime (as it was for Southend) Oldham equalised start of second half (as did Don Goodman). Southend re-took the lead at the start of ext...

Re: Squad for 2025-2026

Been told Jayden Wareham has signed the contract. Any news on Pereira and Mbengue? Feel like they're the most likely to receive better offers. Some people playing the ITK game on X are cryptically suggesting we will get confirmation of Mbengue signing today. No mention of for which club though. He ...

Brogue We lost the playoff final today in 2017

1995 too, which felt much worse given how the game went.

My order in terms of disappointment factor:

Bolton
Walsall - just beats Hudds due to us cruising in ET until a freak OG.
Huddersfield
Swansea

Re: Early expectations for next season

I don't like Nathan Jones but Charlton being out of the way probably helps, Orient will lose Kelman and the 2 Spurs guys on loan and possibly someone will come in for Wellens so can't see a major threat from them next season.
