Re: Pre season tour

Saw out a narrow 1-0 win. Which I can’t recall we did all last season. I took from that we’re aiming to play much quicker and closer together in the middle of the park, rely on speed up front and rely on full backs for crosses. As for danger upfront we might as well have two old ladies with charity ...

Re: Pre season tour

It’s 5/6 time!

15 to go and possibly our best ever result in Spain!

After the goal we were well on top for 10 mins but I think the tension is getting to them.

Re: Pre season tour

Commentator calls McIntyre Thomas and I think he thinks Loader is Obita. I’m still hearing Liam Driscoll 23? Or is it my ears.

Barrett had a shot on 51.

Pen for us.

Obita scores apparently.

Re: Pre season tour

They’re on top now.

We had only one real goal threat, header wide from Meite.

We’re relying on quick breaks up the middle.

Think I saw a back three with McIntyre in midfield towards th end of the half. ??

Re: Pre season tour

Looks like this could be a good test, definitely need it on mute though. Help me here. Saw the line ups at the start and they didn’t include Jordan Obita and Liam Driscoll but I seem to be hearing those names. Thought Swift was playing at the start but maybe not? Who 23 for us? Swift 8 Barrett 21, ...

Bye, Liam Kelly

Sorry to see him go and hope it works out in R'dam. Obvs the last year or so has been a pain on and off the pitch but earlier on there was a footballer in there worth watching - as opposed identikit midfielders like Meyler, Edwards, Evans. Kelly had some bravado and brains, could see and strike a pa...

Have a look at Charlie Hurley era, 72-3, 73-4.

Seem to remember an unbeaten run with many 0-0s.

Re: The Danny Loader conundrum

I love how we still believe we need to bulk our players up. The English solution? Eat a bunch of food and lift weights. Some of the best players in the championship and premier league are not big or bulky. If you are smart, technical, composed and have a good burst of pace or awareness for space yo...

Re: The Danny Loader conundrum

Very timely thread about a player who is baffling. I mean he absolutely looks the part, he has got the pedigree and we have been hearing good things for a couple of years now. But he’s now on 7+14 apps and the only goal i recall him involved in was the one that cost us two points at Bolton, sadly. H...

David Lee.

On loan from Chelsea, early nineties, head and shoulders above the rest, scored goals from midfield etc etc

Whatever happened to him?

Old Man Andrews How was the goalkeeper? He was excellent in the last round against Bracknell Town.

Different?

Last night was Myles Roberts. No chance with the goal. Solid and not that much to do in terms of shot-stopping. . They tried putting about 8 men in the 6 yard box for a late corner but he / we survived.

Re: Berks and Bucks Senior Cup 2018/19

BFTG Flackwell Heath Did well to win this 2-1. Supposedly U23s but I hadn't heard of half our starting XI. Sloping, bobbly pitch and the opposition were up for it. Gave away a goal with the most terrible pass across the face of our goal - Omolabe I think - then lost Nolan to injury, screaming in ago...
