Thanks for the pics Sutekh-as you say, they bring back some good memories. Even though our club identity is of blue hoops I did quite like the Man City/Coventry sky blue colours. What is the badge on this kit. Good to see we didn't have funds then to put one on every shirt  The badge was jus...
If you cannot attend home games, it will be difficult. One solution is to buy tickets and then sell them on. You will still get the caps when the ticket is scanned at the turnstile. Not strictlly within the rules of ESTC membership, but almost impossible for them to police.
Basically, a repeat of our post-December 2023 form, which should see us hovering just below the POs. Couple with a stable behind the scenes setup will make a good season.
Barry Town, didn’t Reading play away there in an FA Cup match? I recall asking some locals for directions and they sent us to the rugby ground. Also remember Stuart Beavon’s free kick which hit the post, then hit the Barry goalie in the face and ended up in the net. There was no segregation in thos...
Arrived in Cologne this morning on a flight full of Jocks. Based in the delightful town of Remscheid, just north of the city, which will be home for the next eight days. Beautiful hilly, green surrounds and now settling down to watch Turkey v Georgia while quaffing one of several cheeky bottles of P...
Cannot say CBC kicking straight into touch was a tactic - the Reading coaching staff were losing their shit when he did it the second time. As said, just poor game management from the team on two occasions that led to goals. Were they also losing their shit when one of our players decided to waste ...

For that Play Off final versus Bolton, it always seemed to me that Bolton and Middlesborough were by far the 2 best sides in the division that season and that had there been 2 auto spots rather than just the 1, Bolton would have had it. We were the 3rd best side in the Division that season (the way...
MK 1 Crawley 5 and 1-8 winners on aggregate . Absolutely superb performance and Liam Kelly MotM again. MK ripped several new arseholes and deservedly so. Crawley would be a welcome addition to L1 next season.
And talking of Reading record signings, only Steve "the greatest ever short goalkeeper the world has ever seen" Death (£20k in 1970, Terry Hurlock £92k in 1986, Keith Curle £150k in 1988 and Darren Caskey £750k in 1996) could be said to have been successful. The rest, Steve Moran, Craig M...
Birmingham City's relegation got my thinking, they can be added to the list of teams I've seen us play in the top 3 tiers. Having followed the club closely since 99/00 or so, the list currently includes Wigan, Bolton, Charlton, Stoke, Portsmouth, Derby and Swansea to my memory. Got me thinking, we ...
Wolves are the only team in England with a complete set of domestic honours: Div 1-4 champions, FA Cup winners, League Cup winners, Football League Trophy winners.
Reading once held the Football League record for consecutive unbeaten home league games. Between April 1933 and January 1936 they went 55 home games without defeat. This record stood for 31 years before being surpassed by Millwall in 1967.
Omnishambles of a rememberance. Charlie Hurley was an old school pragmatic manager for us and concentrated on making us very difficult to beat, but stuck with individual goal threats from Robin Friday, John Murray and (briefly) Percy Freeman. My nan worked at Elm Park for many years as a tea lady an...
