Re: Rinomhota CONFRIMED

Royals and Racers Rinomhota has just issued a statement that sadly due to personal family matters he has had to pull out of the AFCON tournament

Sad to hear. Certainly hope everything is alright.

Re: Reading hit with winding-up petition by former chief executive

They backed out of the stadium expansion because we got relegated. According to the BBC article at the time planning permission was approved, work was planned to start in the summer of 2008: Reading have been granted permission to extend the capacity of the Madejski Stadium from 24,045 to 38,000. T...

Re: The Academy/Development squads watch thread 2024/25

Next up on Friday 19th December home to Hull at Aldershot FC KO 7pm in PL 2 Cup. Would've gone to this, but it appears Aldershot is a bit of a ball-ache to get to and from on public transport, given I live in West Berkshire. Google reckons it would be quicker to get home from Coventry than Aldersho...

Re: The Academy/Development squads watch thread 2024/25

Or it is getting them 1st team minutes at a time when the Academy leagues are not playing - someone will correct me if I'm wrong but the Unders do not have a game until 10th Jan. Neither will be in the first team picture this month, so they can either stay and train or go on loan and play 6 or 7 ga...

Re: Reading hit with winding-up petition by former chief executive

... My one criticism of NH was that when the time came to push on in 2007 he couldn't really think big enough - but that's also something to be held against SJM , especially as there wasn't the money to do what they needed due to the latter's publishing and property failures. Would actually say tha...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Luton Town (h)

Not got much to add beyond what's already been said, but delighted Ehibhatiomhan came on and got a goal - great run; great touch; great finish. Although the initial work by Derrick Williams to bring the ball down and play it was impressive; just shows a more direct style can work when you've actuall...

Pepe the Horseman
Hound Watching back, that D Williams assist was arguably the best bit of CF hold up play we’ve had all season. Brilliant stuff

Yep, love him. Only watched the highlights, what was he doing up there?

He'd stayed up from the free kick we had before it.

Re: MATCHWATCH : Luton Town (h)

Any guesses on how the switch to THursday worked financially? If it had been played on Saturday I’d expect a crowd of 12-13,000, a festive spirit, more than usual spending in bars, the shop etc. Obvs the club get the money from non attending ST holders anyway. How many of the 9000 declared gate act...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Luton Town (h)

It'll be interesting what changes get made for tomorrow - and I am expecting changes. If Marriott is fit, I'd full expect him to start; Ehibhatiomhan back out wide or deeper (possibly in place of Doyle). Wouldn't mind seeing a continuation of the 4-2-3-1/5-2-2-1 hybrid we saw against Bradford - whic...

Re: Joe Jacobson - Liability or Asset ?

Wareham and Craig would likely be the same as Mbengue. More likely you're confusing one of those with Knibbs I'd have thought. How would Knibbs have moved to Charlton if he is under contract and a fee isn't agreed? We had his registration. When else has a player under contract left and the fee been...

Re: FA Youth Cup 2025/6

Reading v Chelsea FA Youth Cup 4th round is on Wednesday 14th January at the SCL KO 7pm So how will Reading fare? Presumably must know Chelsea’s youngsters fairly well and played a few games against them in recent seasons? One win each last season- not played them this -PL U 18 South table is proba...

What is it about AI being generative and not factually reliable that people don’t understand? It builds a plausible sounding response word by word, it doesn’t do research or investigate stuff. It’s not some secretly all know oracle of delphi. Its a convincing lie tool not a fact finder It's probabl...

Re: Joe Jacobson - Liability or Asset ?

Jacobson's had one transfer window as effectively a Director of Football (not just at Reading, but generally). We'll see in January as to what lessons may or not have been learned from the summer. I'd describe the summer window as having at least two strategies, perhaps down to the objectives of the...

We're now linked with Hull's 19 year-old striker Hugh Parker on loan. Apparently, he's a physical striker who can finish well.

Jacob Borgnis has had his loan at Slough extended, with Basil Tuma joining him there: Royals youngsters head on loan. Reading Football Club can confirm that Jacob Borgnis' loan at Slough Town has been extended by one month. The 21-year-old has made five appearances for the Rebels since moving on loa...

Richardson has been patiently waiting in the wings for this to happen post takeover. The problem that Uncle Bob had, was that Noel had narrowly missed o...

Sutekh What narked me is Leam backing WiFi as a striker when he’s never shown anything to demonstrate he’s a double figure thrusting central threat.

Who would you have played as a striker, given Marriott and O'Mahoney have been injured?

They just can`t see it can they, so near to Christmas, not much money, on telly, a cold night, team not performing, we`ll be lucky to get 8.000. The club, STAR, etc. all have to attempt to encourage people to go to games tbf. What the club (or at least the leadership) is missing is the biggest fact...

Re: Reading FC Womens World

Royals and Racers Reading have issued an update on Ker Banduka. After a thorough assessment in hospital she is now recovering at home.

Great to hear she's out of hospital. Hopefully nothing too serious for her going forward.
