Re: Coronavirus outbreak

"Plus many countries (UK and US) aren't testing properly anymore, so that stat is even more pointless." Disagree. We have a population of confirmed cases and from that population it appears 16% die. The fact that these are more severe cases seems to be irrelevant. I don't particularly car...

Re: Coronavirus outbreak

Anyone care to place a bet that the actual death rate for the total population falls in the UK this year?

I think it will

Re: Coronavirus outbreak

Its because those two stats don't include the people who have yet to have an outcome Plus many countries (UK and US) aren't testing properly anymore, so that stat is even more pointless. We will only know what the CFR is when the seroepidemiology studies are done to get data on the spread of communi...

Re: Coronavirus outbreak

state of play: flu deaths this winter (so far) = 109,000 (no lock down, no panic and happens every year ) Corona virus deaths (so far) = 14,700 (lock down, massive panic, destroying world economy, one off event ) Just shows that people are pricks for not taking flu seriously If one thing comes from...

Re: BFTG Sheff U FB

I prefer zonal marking in general. URGomesAICMFP Zonal marking is what nearly everyone has used nearly all the time for at least fifteen years. These days you only really see man marking: - At set pieces - To deal with a specific threat (e.g. Jorginho under Sarri) - As an extremely defensive strate...

Re: Coronavirus outbreak

And no matter how much people think they can be magic'd out of thin air, the machines/labs/kits are simply not there to do the testing now its ramped up

Re: Coronavirus outbreak

UK is using the standard WHO test, with a few minor tweaks depending on the hospital lab

But there are only so many machines to run the tests on and so many labs in which to do them

Re: Coronavirus outbreaky

I think Boris was misleading or mistaken when he said 250,000 a day would be being tested. That would be almost two million a week, the whole UK population in 264 days. AND unless they’ve changed the test they would still miss 40% of positives. If 66M were tested and 80% (50M) had it the current te...

Fukk taking an experimental vaccine before its been through animal safety trials

Would be typical if a rushed vaccine gives loads of people Guillain-Barre Syndrome...…. or actually exacerbates the infection like the RSV vaccine a few decades ago

Re: MATCHWATCH : Birmingham City (a) sponsored by mid table obscurity

Great play by Puscas in the build up to the third. He's definitely coming good, even without getting on the scoresheet today. What's really impressive is that, whilst people are rightly praising Pele's finish, he also made the original clearance out of our box before bombing 80yds downfield to be o...

Re: BFTG Brum

What was with that 1st half performance? It was just so insipid Swift was beyond atrocious, and everyone else looked like they'd forgotten the plan. Just before HT there was a passage of play on our left where the ball was just played in a triangle between Richards, Ejaria and Swift (?) for about 2 ...

This is clueless though.

No hint of a plan, half arsed passing, can't keep hold of the ball.

Re: BFTG Sheff U FB

Agree with most posters, only thing I'll add is that Swift and Ejaria should be told that it's not against the rules to use your left foot. This explains the near constant turning back into trouble when gaining possession. My Sheff Utd mate was commenting on the same thing, that Swift and Ejaria ar...

The best compliment we can pay the team for last night was that Sheff Utd started shooting from distance...….something that is absolutely not in their game plan
