Re: Champions League/Europa League 2019/20

VAR continuing to be a farce, no surprises there although in its defence, it hasn’t been as slow as I originally anticipated in the Premier League Not a good night for English sides tonight. Have no idea why Klopp persists with Milner and Henderson in midfield, especially when they also have Shaqir...

Re: LOLiverpooLOL - Next Season

Thank goodness the dreadful decision by Marriner not to give a penalty made no difference to the result. The mighty reds go marching on but have a difficult game away at Chelsea next week but win that and I think they will now become favourites with Laporte out for City for 6 months. How bad is Joh...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Middlesbrough (a) sponsored by a Simon Cox chip

I hope Miazga is back today because, although McIntyre has done ok with his few opportunities, I think we need a solid and physical back 3 to make our system work.
The only weak link so far has been Moore but hopefully he gets back to where he was a couple of seasons ago.

Re: England - the future....

I think I'm totally done with watching England qualifiers now. Their wins are seemingly inevitable and you have to listen to Hoddle's drivel and the rest of the monstrosity that is ITV when they're on. At least when I watch a Scotland qualifier I'm not 100%* sure of the result *Prolly about 85% I t...

Re: BFTG - Charlton

(Raphael) Did I see it right (wasn't 100% sure from my angle of view), but it looked as though he decided not to stand in the middle of the goal and instead to one side leaving a much wider opening on one side that. The Charlton penalty taker accepted the invitation to score on that side and in it ...

Re: LOLiverpooLOL - Next Season

you've played sides who are likely to be in a relegation battle and Arsenal at Anfield (guaranteed 3 points) Just out of interest how do Liverpool beat teams who park the bus? You haven't really got a Pirlo/Scholes/Iniesta type player so does Salah's dribbling do it? I suppose you have good crosser...

Re: LOLiverpooLOL - Next Season

Calm down...you’ve played Southampton and Norwich and looked shakey at the back You ok m9? It's a fair summation of the opening couple of weeks. Liverpool's shakiness at the back has delivered a 100% record and a Super Cup, and City would be on nine points too but for VAR shenanigans. you've played...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Charlton Athletic (h) sponsored by Dave Shipperley

We have had applause/silence for relatives of the club's owners in recent times so to do so for a fellow football club doesn't seem such a bad idea to me. Except perhaps that the football club, part of the football family, has been around and known to us for over 100 years whereas relatives of owne...

Re: LOLiverpooLOL - Next Season

You look at the early weeks of the PL and it "could" be a great season there as about 18 of the clubs seem capable of beating each other - but Liverpool and City only look like dropping points due to their own wastefulness - the gap between Liverpool and Chelsea last season was 25points -...

Re: LOLiverpooLOL - Next Season

As somehow nothing has been said about this season's 100% record so far I thought I might express my view that they could actually stay at the top for the rest of the season.
Although early in the season the Mighty Reds and City look again to be miles better than the rest.

percy_freeman My daughter has just moved next door to Jimmy Wheeler. Before my time even but a true Reading Legend.

Jimmy's mum and dad used to live a few doors away from us and I was friendly with his kid brother Frank.
Jimmy must be well into his 80s if not older.
