It's a rumour that I might be attending a Cambridge City game early next season

What forum would you suggest?

Jamie Cureton at 50?

Aged 49 as player-manager at Cambridge City, Jamie just played the full 90 minutes in their last home game of the season. Great to see the old fella in his post-match interview: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BR3jH3RziKE He's 50 in August and apparently aiming to be available for self-selection nex...

Re: “ Sell before we Dai “ supporters action group v2.1

Some attention now from The Guardian: https://www.theguardian.com/football/2023/jul/14/reading-mess-men-women-relegated-squad-part-time Ah yes, just posted this in the STAR section. Paula much quoted. (Missed it here.) FWIW - I still support a campaign that gets the club in a state to be sellable t...

Great piece (seemingly) based on an interview with Paula in the Grauniad.

Transfer Embargo Lifted

(Apologies - I've obviously lost the knack of interacting with HNA, but I can't see any thread since yesterday where this is mentioned?)

Re: HMRC Winding up petition/order

I see the BBC posted a profile of Dai Yongge this morning. Clearly no real interest in running a football club, just a passing fad, more money than sense or ethics. Given the personal wealth - assuming it's real - I don't see why the club couldn't just be offered for sale with the existing debts pa...

I kinda want us to go out of business so this idea can come to fruition.

Re: Next Reading Manager

I’d be happy with ainsworth, but would like to see how ince develops. Who knows maybe ince will work out. But you can’t miss what a fine job ainsworth has done with Wycombe on a shoestring budget against some big teams. Ainsworth, yes that's a good call but has to be Parky for me and the SM of all ...

Re: How bad would relegation be?

I don't think it could be much worse than it is now, major clear-out & refresh might not be all bad.

(That said, odds of not being relegated not looking good anyway - 4 teams avoiding the 3 drop slots, with 2 win gap above?)

Re: Liam moore

As well as the club statement, I think Laurent's post-match media comment yesterday is significant:

"We need to grow up as a team and individuals ..."

There's clearly more to Moore's side of the story, but whoever is "at fault" it's affecting the squad's chances.

Re: Hard to see any progress for the forseeable future

As ever it will be the finances that decide our fate.

Under Paunovic this has been one of the more capable and exciting squads in recent years, so many options in starting elevens, but in this post-Madejski era our finances appear to be catching up with us.

Re: MATCHWATCH : Sheffield Wednesday (h)

Ooof, brave choice not to pick your top scorer for the previous two seasons who adds a different dimension. A lot of brave choices required with this squad though. Yes, I was thinking a luxury to have both Olise and Ejaria ... probably best to think in terms different tactical combinations (inc sub...

Re: Best player you've ever seen play against us

Hendo Talking about Liverpool actually reminds me of Torres’ hat trick in the league cup game a number of years ago. Seems to get forgotten but he was very good that day.

Ah yes, add that one to my list.

Ronaldo vs Murty sticks in my mind.
(And Gus Poyet in a pre-season friendly I seem to recall)
