Re: Coronavirus outbreak

Good grief. Well said SCiAG. Abbott is worthy of pisstakes for her pisspoor performance in that “ numbers” interview, but there is no doubt a racist element to singling her out , supposedly as thick. ( no, not you RR). RR do you read the Economist? It’s a right-wing rag, but a trusted, well- connec...

Re: Coronavirus outbreak

Germany death toll climbing in the last 4 days quite markedly. 9, 23, 33, 48. Has the traditional kiss greeting in France, Italy and Spain been identified as a contributing factor in the rapid spread in those countries? Got to be a more efficient way of passing it on than a handshake I’d have thought.

Re: Coronavirus outbreak

Germany? There is no cure for this virus, but obviously better care gives more people a better chance of staying alive long enough for the body to beat the virus However there is a column below that seems to indicate that Germany, so far is not getting so many serious cases 39,673 - - - 2,355 Serio...

Re: Coronavirus outbreak

I think that's because the counts are added up as Scottish and Welsh counts come separately before England. The scary number is 93. That's how many are now recovered. So 4,800 still fighting But FWIW it says only 20 serious / critical cases. Anyway, too early to review / comment as not all stats ar...

Re: Coronavirus outbreak

The daily update for deaths in U.K. has been updated from yesterday’s 56 to 10... rest of the stats (new cases etc.) not updated yet.

I find 10 hard to believe but there you go.

Re: Coronavirus outbreak

I think that is exactly it, yes.

Allow 3-4 months of a flattened peak for the younger elements of the population then release the oldies and have a new peak. If it all comes at once it would be completely unmanageable.

Re: Coronavirus outbreak

It seems to me that everything being done is about flattening the peak. Everyone is going to be exposed to it so all measures are designed to ensure that there is no huge spike because that would overwhelm the NHS and result in civil unrest and a total breakdown in the economy which could take decad...

Re: The Manager Sack Race/Merry-go-Round

This is going to be an almighty disaster. Looking forward to it. I like Spurs. Feel sorry for them. At best they'll win a minor trophy next season and then by the one after they'll be worse off and less competitive than now. It’s happened sooner than even we thought. Forget the injuries, the team l...

Re: SpuROFLs

It’s enjoyable watching this busted flush destroying another club’s morale, amply illustrated by yet again throwing players under the bus, tactics that worked so well at Man Utd. And yet it’s also a shame after the great entertainment provided by Spurs under Poch. I couldn’t believe the astute Levy ...
