Re: MATCHWATCH : Barnsley (h)

katweslowski Club news - Steve Coppell will be in attendance.

I really do feel the takeover is or has happened

Yep, you'd certainly like to think that is a good indicator of a non-toxic atmosphere on Saturday.

Re: why don't more people from Ethnic Minorities support Reading?

Maybe lack of players of the same ethnicity they can relate to? Other sports may be a factor, but probably playing those sports on a Saturday rather than attending since Berkshire isn't really a hot spot for sports like Ruby or Cricket, but there are a number of Cricket grounds dotted around the pl...

Re: CONFIMRED - The 2nd final countdown

Brogue So Huang kad posts a picture of a purple turtle. An hour later the club announce the amazons will be playing in the purple turtle stage at the stadium.

I mean it’s pretty undeniable the guy has information.

Some people on Twitter are losing their minds over this guy, it's quite amusing.

Re: why don't more people from Ethnic Minorities support Reading?

Asians do not like football. I never played football for or against Asian players in the Sunday leagues. But cricket was a different story with loads of Asian players. Sometimes entire clubs. We have a lot of eastern europeans in west Reading maybe we could target them? "Asians" is a bit ...

Re: Promotion thread 2024/25

It's probably been noted, but we need a favour this weekend from Huddersfield (five defeats in a row) at home to Orient (five wins in a row). It feels unlikely. Huddersfield have had a really odd season - they went unbeaten for 16 games from early October, but are currently on a run of 11 defeats i...

Re: Ups & Downs 24/25

Pepe the Horseman I think Preston will be the 3rd team to go down.

Sheff Utd likely to finish on 92 pts. Will that be a record high for not finishing in the top 2?

So what happens if Preston get relegated and Bristol City get promoted? Does The Championship hibernate for a year?

Re: MATCHWATCH : Bristol Rovers (a)

I wonder if there's going to be any push for chasing as many goals as possible or if the team have accepted if we win both games and still lose out on G/D, thems the breaks. I mean, maybe - but that would still involve outscoring Orient by 10 goals in 2 games or a 10 goal swing. I don't think those...

Re: Promotion thread 2024/25

You'd think Charlton may be on a downer if they don't make top 2 having given themselves a chance. Wycombe/Wrexham certainly would be. Yep, very much a parallel with us in 2001. Just missed out on top 2 and fell short in the final. Then again, didn’t affect Swansea who just missed out to Cardiff ii...

Re: Promotion thread 2024/25

Wouldn't be against Orient winning the play-offs if they do get in, following the run they've had. So often the team who comes from nowhere just carries that momentum through. Inter lose to Bologna with a 94th minute goal. Means Inter and Napoli are both on 71 points at the top with 5 to play. Keep in mind that if the season ends with 2 teams top on the same points then they have a play off match to decide the title winner https://img.gifglobe.com/grabs/brentcloud/S01E01...

Amazon prime doing a behind the scenes documentary on Birmingham city, a true footballing miracle on how you can get promoted on a shoestring budget. Is this a wind up? Do Amazon Prime know they spent £15m on one player? https://s.yimg.com/ny/api/res/1.2/sLzutVeTsxN2wKACYXPSiA--/YXBwaWQ9aGlnaGxhbmR...

Mr Angry As a matter of interest, does anyone know how much it cost STAR to put the team - including support staff - up before the Shrewsbury game?

Let's say 30 staff, 2 to a room, so 15 rooms, let's say £100/night, maybe about £1,500? Give or take a few hundred quid.

WestYorksRoyal PSG are great to watch. I know they're hardly a fairy tale, being sponsored by a gulf state, but I could watch that team play for days. Definitely the best team in the competition.

Would be quite lolz if they ended up winning it the year after Mbappe leaves.
