Re: Pogrebnyak

Get rid while we can, as someone else alluded to otherwise we will have a Zigic situation. All the fans that think he will be an absolute beast in the championship, what are you basing that on. The central defenders will be more physical than in the prem, where he wimped out of most challenges, and...

Re: 9 years ago tomorrow

Jackson Corner Was this our first Sky game at the Mad Stad? If I remember James Lambert played for Oxford that day?

He did - Barry Hunter nearly killed him on the half way line. That was pretty much the only highlight of the day.

Forbury Lion I don't recall enjoying any games this season, I've just kind of lost interest. I've renewed my season ticket again in the hope I get back what I've lost.

This.

The optimists are quite entitled to voice the opinion that they remain positive and expect great things but, having been so conclusively wrong last time, it's amazing to see them adopting the same patronising tone in addressing the opinions of those who, last year, were proved so conclusively right...

Tutti Frutti Robert Codner. Couldn't run and the turning circle of an aircraft carrier.

Mass is saved by his performance on the first day at the Madejski.

And the best bit of skill I've ever seen 'live' in the opening game at Wrexham.

Re: player of the season

brendywendy he made a couple of errors in front of the leakiest and constantly changing defence in the premiere league, and the most lightweight midfield.
im not sure the criticism he got was at all fair

Maybe he would of done better if he was behind it?

Re: player of the season

Hahnemann has been by far the most consistent performer, nobody else is even close, but as it normally goes each season it goes to the most popular and not he best. The winner will be Hunt. He was consistently dodgy for the 1st half of the season and has played consistently well for the second half.

Re: Making a name for themselves?

79Royal Not too many I can think of, Shaka and Primus are the obvious ones.

The only other player I can think of that went on to better things was Lovell. Moved to a SPL side from a team who got relegated to League 1 equivalent. Does that count?

Isn't that moving down a level?

But we WERE down to 10 men. Your argument doesn't really stand up very tall... So Hahnemann dropping the ball and gifting Pompey a goal was down to how many men were on the pitch? It put us on the back foot regardless of a man being sent off Who knows how that free kick would have been handled had ...
