Re: Squad for 2025-2026

Yeah, seems really weird, surely any Serie A team is a higher quality than us, why would we have players they'd want to loan?

Re: New Owners - Redwood Watch

Was a bit squeamish about seeing him citing studying at Reading Uni, just had AZ "I studied at Bearwood College" vibes.

Re: MATCHWATCH : Barnsley (a)

I think a surprise win here; 1-0 We will get battered but with Williams marshalling the defence and El Gato having another 8/10 game, we hold out and then catch them on the break, with Dan K getting the goal. Speaking of Williams, I wonder who gets dropped when O'Connor is fit, I am under the impre...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Barnsley (a)

While results have started picking up on our end, they've started well so I'm not remotely confident about this.

Re: Rival Watch

Just hoping we don't have too many games called off because of international breaks, somewhat ironic since we were the ones last season getting games called off. I think I've expressed this elsewhere, but I'm of the exact opposite opinion. Long term, I think we're going to improve over the season, ...

Re: Reading FC Womens World

Feels like a concerning result if promotion is the aim, Beaconsfield are newly promoted right?

Re: Rival Watch

The league table is pretty irrelevant at this point. Yes. Games in hand will slowly stack up over season and only really unwind in March and April. Just hoping we don't have too many games called off because of international breaks, somewhat ironic since we were the ones last season getting games c...

Re: Luca Fletcher Man City to Ipswich

Been watching a lot of these CEO interviews. I think the Exeter one said there's a sell-on fee chain keeps going until the player ends up unattached or is involved in a deal doesn't include a sell-on clause. An example would be: Sale 1 - £1m + 30% between Club A and Club B Sale 2 - £2m + 20% betwee...

Re: Reading FC Womens World

Royals and Racers 3-1 57 mins Whitburn
4-1 90 + 3 Hayes

Same result as last season, should that be a concern?

Re: MATCHWATCH : Port Vale (h)

I do hope we improve as the season goes because that just looked like two poor teams where we came out on top. Just hoping that it's gonna take a bit for all the new signings to gel.

Does feel like a bit of a damp squib without a big name behind it, Wrexham have Ryan Reynold, Brum have Tom Brady, who exactly do we have?

Mark O’Mahony confirmed in the Ireland U21 squad for their qualifiers against Moldova and Andorra: https://www.fai.ie/latest/under-21-squad-named-moldova-and-andorra-qualifiers/ No Charlie Savage in the Wales first team squad (unsurprisingly): https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/articles/cwy5zjpzn...

Re: Reading FC Womens World

Will be interesting to see how the club has progressed, Badshot Lea were one of two teams significantly worse than Reading women last season, Reading beat them on the final home game of the season 6-2.

In the simulated draw we got Swansea at home.

So obviously hoping we get something far better than that.

If he's coming pack to start a transition into a coaching role, this needs to be specified in the announcement because people won't react positively to this.

Re: MATCHWATCH : AFC Wimbledon (h)

If the problem with playing Wing further up is he gets marked out of the game, can't we just start him further forward and if he gets marked out of the game, he can drop back into that quarterback role and have someone like Savage or Fraser push further forward?

Re: MATCHWATCH : AFC Wimbledon (h)

Would be nice to keep progressing in these winnable games to have more opportunities to keep the squad rotation going and keep everyone fresh.

So, no idea what team either side will put out.
