Re: Snitching on fans

I would say worrying about being a grass is something kids and teenagers do, just report them IMO You have to be a bit careful in getting children evicted from football grounds and them getting a potential criminal record because I don't want to make someone's life an awful lot harder just because ...

Re: Away day - seating or unreserved

As someone who prioritises time in the pub over time in the ground - unallocated doesn't really suit me. If I wanted the cheap seats I'd have ordered them.

Re: Should drinking in the stands be allowed back in football?

I suddenly recalled the young lad at Shrewsbury who was clearly struggling and threw up halfway down the stairs of the stand, hand vaguely in the way so he covered himself completely in beer and bile. Good times. See I'll always argue that prohibition doesn't work. Same as 11pm curfews for pu...

Re: World Cup 2026

Winston Biscuit Sudan we're top of their group, but conceded 8 minutes into injury time to draw with South Sudan, which meant DR Congo & Senegal were able to go ahead of them.

1 point between the 3 teams at the top.

That's quite the derby match. Not gonna help tensions in the area I fear.

Re: The phoenix club thread

Simply getting behind Reading City might not be the worst option. Established club, with a ground. An influx of support would potentially let them rise rapidly up the leagues and they may not be averse to becoming the home of former Royals, although they might hate the idea . To be honest it would ...

Re: Minutes applause during a game

maybe I am heartless, but I really dislike the whole minute applause on a specific minute for fans who have died stuff +1 not a fan of gestures at football. All seems a bit stodgy and mawkish (i.e. scousey) I blame the demise of the match day programme, which would've previously been the natural pl...

Re: Greenland

I believe UEFA only consider UN members (as that matches FIFA's membership criteria), unless required to consider another territory by CAS order (see Gibraltar), think UEFA should consider associate membership for self-governing territories and allow them to play in the Nations League. This would a...

Re: Greenland

Had enough of UEFA repeatedly turning down their application to become members, so today they have applied to become members of CONCACAF instead. UEFA qualifying criteria is that the UN need to recognise you as fully independent nation, so greenland fails there. Good luck to 'em I say! Not sure if ...

Re: Charlton ( A) Saturday 4th January

Delboy There are 4 of with tickets not been to. Charlton before will train to Paddington what’s the best way from there ?

Lizzie to Woolwich probably, takes you to within a couple of miles of the ground. Short bus ride from there or two stops on South Eastern from nearby Woolwich Arsenal.

Re: Reading's Penalty Shoot Out Record

Another one for the slate I feel like these aren't as rare as they used to be Feels worse when you've sat through 6 of them with a record of W1 L5 Lita at Stoke FFS although, in a moment you might appreciate, I did turn round to find I was stood next to Willow. Nice. A blast from the past and a bla...

Shows what a piss poor jobs the other mods have been doing (bar Ollie, TBM and BBC Radio Berks) that Brogue gets lauded as some kind of hero for doing the bare minimum. Maybe you guys should take a walk over to general football and see the absolute chaos that is the European Leagues thread, which c...

Re: #SellBeforeWeDai Action/Inaction Group

It still only got attention because there no (few?) premier league games that day. Unless something is done on a weekend that's a similar 'slow news day' it'll barely get a mention, and the brutal truth is that it hasn't made a shred of difference. It got live FA Cup attention with pundits discussi...
