Re: Membership

Makes sense to me. As an extremely casual home game goer, this was one more barrier to entry. Was a ballache to sign up, and kept lapsing. The membership was a one off so once you purchased one, that was it. Given it was only £5 from memory for adults and had been in place for 20+ years it would be...

Re: Greenland

Nuuk airport has recently been upgraded and can at last take jumbo jets which will help.

No more changes at Kangerlussuaq nervously keeping an eye on the weather forecast to see if your onward travel is cancelled.

Re: Reading fan in Sussex yesterday (hove)?

I was in Brighton on Saturday. Not been for years, I used to go down with work occasionally but that must be over 10 years ago now. Nice to rediscover it, as much as you can "discover" one of the busiest seaside towns on the South Coast on a hot Saturday in July at least. i was there too ...

Re: Greenland

CONCACAF rejected Greenland's application to join them this week BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO Boo indeed. Can't seem to find much info as to why not, although some online speculation suggests they don't have a good enough stadium https://static01.nyt.com/athletic/uploads/wp/2024/05/30235356/394467177_7389273...

Re: Bearwood Open Day

Only those who renewed by the 6th of June are eligible so I would imagine the club have assumed at least 90% of what ever that figure is will attend. So around 7,500 eligible, if the club reports on season ticket sales progress were accurate. I doubt the club will have assumed as high as 6,750. Tha...

I don't think it's STAR's wheelhouse really. If it about the coaches or supporters club shop I'm sure you would have received a reply.

1. Daniel Storey of the i did all 92 grounds this season. He wrote a solid piece on our troubles. That's here: https://inews.co.uk/sport/football/reading-fc-tragic-irony-3348900 The ending gets me. Re: Football Stadia - Past, Present & Future

project to knock down Goodison Park and build summat there scrapped and the stadium will instead stay in place and be used for the womens team (for now at least) Just seen a comment that it's effectively a divorce. The men have to move out and the women get to keep the home. Bad experience, Dirk :?:

Yes I wouldn't be rushing to lock threads. The beauty of the boards default sort order is that the less relevant threads soon disappear of their own accord.

Re: Low point of the Dai era

For me it was probably when Couhig was sueing Dai. Seemed like that would prohibit any deal going through, and that at that point it seemed more about revenge than any interest in the club. And the Bearwood thing I guess. Agree with the Tilehurst end article on it all, "a welcome but complicate...
