Re: MATCHWATCH : Middlesbrough (a) sponsored by a Simon Cox chip

Was anyone really expecting an entirely new team to be consistently good straight-away?

Other clubs in the past have spent far more money than us, with much more experienced managers than us, and still struggled for the first few seasons.

sandman Anyone else getting the feeling that whilst Gomes was the one to bring back some positivity to the club he may not be the one to take it to the next stage?

Re: Have we sold the Mad Stad to the owners/someone else?

The situation is like if you had your own plumbing company and (for some reason) decided to buy the van that the 'company' owns. Technically speaking, your company has exchanged an asset for cash and this impacts tax and whatever. But in the real-world, you still have the same van that you can use w...

Club are offering free travel so you could effectively go away and watch your team, who are showing good signs, play away at Huddersfield for £30. And people complain. If it was £25 People wouldn't be complaining so you're basically quibbling over a fiver which is less than a pint. Our fans are a j...

Re: Huddersfield (A)

windermereROYAL Seems to be an ongoing theme that the Yorkshire clubs charge 30quid plus.

It's really annoying as I live in Yorkshire, but i'm not paying £30+ for a ticket out of principle.

I like having 3 at the back - especially when your full backs aren't the best defenders and you're not playing with wingers.

We should buy out their contracts and let them move to foreign clubs whilst the window is still open.

Re: BFTG - Wycombe Away

In a word - Disjointed. But kind of understandably so.... There is some quality raw material to work with. Jose just needs to settle on his way of playing and let the players bed in. Massive difference to where we were a year ago. Agreed. I mean, even the season we got promoted under McDermott (ble...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Wycombe Wanderers (a) sponsored by Lawrie Sanchez

This was a good fixture for us right now. Gave a lot of the new guys a chance to get some game time in a low stakes situation. The result was almost irrelevant, but winning gives us another tie like this.

Re: Financial Fair Play

Would be interesting to know the terms of the sale of the ground and Bearwood. What security of tenure do we have ? You would hope we have a very long exclusive lease Are there any restrictive covenants in place ? Do we just have the right to use the ground for matches or can we still generate non ...

Re: Financial Fair Play

Comparison to Coventry is just wrong. The football club (and its owners) have never owned the freehold or leasehold to the stadium. They were always a tenant to a council controlled entity. SISU's original beef was the rent didn't go down when they were relegated from the Premier League and remaine...

Re: Financial Fair Play

I saw on another thread that we've done the current trick of selling assets (training ground) to the owner to generate revenue. It's a one off injection - but it could potentially be worth multiple millions. Surprised that the rules allow it, but so be it. There's actually fairly little downside to...
