Re: The generic transfer thread

Much like the Wirtz transfer, looks like Liverpool are in dialogue with Newcastle and will agree a deal before making a formal bid for Isak. Sky Sports Germany reporting that an agreement in principle with Isak is in place to earn £280k a week until 2031. Has something changed in football, seems to...

Re: The generic transfer thread

Sign Diaz for €45m. 103 games and 29 goals. 3.5 years later sell him for €75m. Hats off, that's superb transfer business by Liverpool. I think he's a better player than his numbers - total chaos on the ball and hard to defend. But yeah, €75m for a 29 year old who isn't going to get any better, it's...

Re: The generic transfer thread

Sutekh Diaz to Bayern Munich for €75m

This is, it seems, in part to fund the Isak bid - a formal offer expected this week. Small complication may be Leipzig using Ekitike's fee as a benchmark for Newcastle's interest in Sesko as a replacement for Isak.

Re: The generic transfer thread

But is Ekitike actually any good? Seen some reports saying he’s the worst finisher in Europe and others saying only Haaland and Mbappe have greater potential. Suppose there must be something in his stats that suggests he’s something otherwise Liverpool wouldn’t have spent £69m on him. Be  if h...

Re: The generic transfer thread

Daily Mail, and only the Daily Mail at this stage, says that Isak has told Newcastle he wants to leave the club - albeit short of handing in a formal transfer request.

Re: Womens euros 2025

Bit of a shame for the otherwise outstanding AKB that her error (if it can be called that when it was really a piece of brilliance by Bonmati) cost Germany last night but the general standard of goalkeeping in this tournament has been excellent. I predicted that would happen a few years ago, now I ...

Royal Rother Bit obvious really but we really must keep Bonmati quiet.

This is where we'll miss Millie Bright.

Re: Womens euros 2025

Incredible stat this. We might not be winning tournament after tournament. But seven of the last eight major finals in the senior or U21 games have involved England. Which is quite something. And should be celebrated. (Men's) Euro 2021 - Italy v England (Women's) Euro 2022 - England v Germany (Men's...

Re: Womens euros 2025

I think our delivery around the box has let us down more than anything. Number of times we got past the last defender only to hit the next one with a cross - Russo in particular - was infuriating.

Re: The generic transfer thread

Seems to have moved quickly. Ekitike close to Liverpool, which presume means Isak staying at Newcastle, who are interested in Wissa as a cheaper alternative. Ekitike confirmed. Growing talk that Liverpool want Isak too. Having had the pleasure of watching Ekitike in person a few times last ...

The suggested €80m for Etikike is a huge fee for a 23 year old who isn't yet capped by his country.

Re: The generic transfer thread

I'm fascinated whether FSG suddenly spending like this represents coincidence, or that Klopp was in fact much more reticent to get behind player's suggest by their transfer committee.

David Ornstein says that, whilst no formal bid has been submitted, Liverpool are testing the water on Alexander Isak, and have 'informed' Newcastle that they would be interested in a deal for the striker in the region of £120m. Eintracht Frankfurt reject a £70m bid from Newcastle for Hugo Etikike. ...

Re: The footballer gets arrested thread

Not a headline I expected to read this morning. Spain's Ministry of Social Rights has asked the country's prosecutor to investigate Lamine Yamal, after the winger hired people with dwarfism to perform at his 18th birthday party.

Re: The generic transfer thread

Spurs have Spursey'd it.

Morgan Gibbs-White deal off for now, with Forest considering legal action for what they consider to be an illegal approach to the player from Spurs.
