Re: Football stats

Bit of a numbers dork and I like my stats - mostly player histories, transfer fees, unbeaten runs, that sort of thing. What sites, if any, do you guys use for this kind of thing? Can't really find a one stop shop for everything, although Transfermarkt comes close. What triggered the question was Ti...

Re: Weekend Football

I think the McBurnie thing is a sad representation of the society we now live in. Seriously, he’s just enjoying a game of football with some friends, why does there have to be a big deal about everything I think we can and should expect our professional footballers not to make w@nker gestures at ot...

Re: LOLiverpooLOL - Next Season

Another crazy stat is that since Klopp's still transitional team lost 4-1 at White Hart Lane in October 2017, Liverpool have lost just 4 times in 88 games. Talking of transition, or rather standing still - were Lloris and Kane not injured, eight of Spurs' starting XI on that day would have started a...

Re: The Manager Sack Race/Merry-go-Round

Derby wasn't a great fit, and Belgium was a 'different' experience. Take those out and Pearson has a career 43.4% win rate, which is right up there amongst current managers (and including Derby it is 42.7% in England). He's a good manager - not to everyone's taste but he gets results (albeit his fir...

Re: LOLiverpooLOL - Next Season

might as well hand them that trophy now....and deservedly so Crazy Premiership lead Just 35 points needed now, so they need a maximum of 12 wins from their final 17 games, and that's assuming City win their next 16 in a row. Every chance the title will be decided by the time Liverpool visit the Eti...

Re: The generic transfer thread

Just looking at some figures for 17/18 onwards (basically the last 2 1/2 years) and little old Bournemouth (£85m) have a higher nett transfer spend than 3 of last season's continental cup finalists (Chelsea £80m, Spurs £75m, Liverpool £51m). In fact, in that period, Bournemouth have paid more in tr...

Re: LOLiverpooLOL - Next Season

Much being made of Curtis Jones' goal and performance against Everton, but for me the standout was Harvey Elliott, 16 years old (and not 17 until April) and gliding around the pitch like he owned the place.

Re: Opposition fans back from the game

All very interesting but doesn't explain why Fulham fans were already acting like a bunch of entitled pricks 3 seasons ago when we beat them in the playoffs and they were coming out with the same shit about us being cheats and lucky and how they shouldn't be losing to teams like Reading. What do yo...

Re: Opposition fans back from the game

I am sure Fulham fans were perfectly happy in summer 2018 with the spending of £100m on new players and the perceived ambition and statement of intent the owners were showing. It was only when it became apparent most of the signings were duds and the money wasted that they pined for the Championshi...

Re: Opposition fans back from the game

Having spent a lot of time around Fulham FC, I find it both amusing and laughable the stink some of our fans kick up about the club, seemingly unable to substitute a particular dislike for Fulham and a perceived sense of entitlement from the fact that every club, even our own, has fans of that ilk. ...

Re: LOLiverpooLOL - Next Season

Sheffield United putting up a valiant fight at Anfield. 1-0 Liverpool after 3 minutes. They actually played pretty well, just stuck to their gameplan and had a few chances. But Liverpool won comfortably, which shows how far ahead of the rest they are at the moment. Unbeaten in 51 now at Anfield - a...

Re: The Manager Sack Race/Merry-go-Round

I'd care more about the money stuff if there was another way to do it, but there isn't, Our own club teeters on the edge of FFP trouble/financial ruin year-on-year, and if we go up this season, which looks a long shot, it will nevertheless be with one of the biggest wage bills in the division.

Re: We're ManchesteROFL United, we do what we want

I think calls to play TAA in midfield rather miss the point that, whilst Klopp hasn't 'invented' the role that he and Robertson play, that role is tailored to his strengths. Put him in a midfield three and you lose those dreamy crosses. Put him wide midfield and he has a man on him most of the time,...

Re: BFTG Fulham

Wtf Cabral That triple save is legendary. Surely up there with Sonko's superman header. It is said a good keeper is worth a few points in a season. Well I take back what I said about the guy being average. He is above average. He manages to just keep things out. Ain't pretty. Face, arse, legs, what...
