Re: England - the future....

Winston Biscuit
From Despair To Where? Kane's goalscoring form has also dropped off for England in the past 4 years. from 0.88 goals per game up to 2021 to 0.61 since 2022.

isn't that just a particularly good 2021 skewing that?

2019 was better.

Re: England - the future....

Just eyeballing the data, I don't think that statistic is correct. Had a quick look/play. At the end of 2021, he had played 67 England games and scored 48 goals, for a ratio of 0.72. After the game last night, it is 109 games and 74 goals, for a ratio of 0.68. From 2022 to 2025 inclusive, it's 0.62....

Re: England - the future....

At least [Serbia] should take the game to England so we might not get another round of “boreball”. It's probably worth spending a moment of time on just how bad Serbia were. At times they had flat back six, just no intention in the first half to do anything constructive. A really flat and uninspire...

Re: England - the future....

Actually think Andorra have improved quite markedly since, well, the Nations League started.

Anyway, the vibe of CBA about England was actually funny. I guess that happens when the games vs Serbia are pretty much all that will matter.

Re: Rival Watch

Didn't we go quite a long time.with a horrendous record for.first game back after the international break?

That could also be because we were pretty shit for quite a long time.

Re: Rival Watch

The question to ask is 'has the* club ever turned down the opportunity to postpone the game'. *I'm going to go with any here. Just find one. Anyway, because I'm bored, here's 2023-24 Matchday 7 cancelled due to internationals - next match was Bolton (H), won , rearranged match was Bristol (H) draw M...

Re: Rival Watch

The league table is pretty irrelevant at this point. Yes. Games in hand will slowly stack up over season and only really unwind in March and April. Just hoping we don't have too many games called off because of international breaks, somewhat ironic since we were the ones last season getting games c...

Re: Stockport County (A)

This was the discussion last time. I used to live not far from Stockport and trained nearby. Ten odd years ago it was really shite. #cuttingedgereviews TBF I googled for the cancelled games and I would likely have a look at the crown and the brewery nearby, then the cluster of pubs on the other side...

Re: Hunt out.

The thread and its existence is a product of the reality we are in. There are those who believe that changing a manager will achieve some sort of positive impact on results. This would only happen if the manager has lost the dressing room and the players are either bickering with each other or not ...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Swindon Town (a)

Doesn't every team press but some more energetically, effectively and for longer than others? There's also variations in where teams start to press and with how many players. I'd go so far as saying not every team presses - if you're sitting back in a 4-5-1 or similar, the aim is reduce the area be...

Stevenage (h), Blackpool (a) and Luton (h) are, as far as I can see, our televised league games this calendar year.

Re: Hunt out.

The single worst thing we could do now is remove Hunt the moment the transfer window closes. Vortex behaviour.

Brobot's message - that's a trap, mate.

Re: MATCHWATCH : Swindon Town (a)

I know you can't constantly harp back to where we were a year ago but I'm willing to bet a lot of these clowns were expressing their love of the club back then and saying how they just want a club to support. Well that wasn't support and the club would be better off without them travelling. The clu...

Re: Summer 2025 Transfer Ratings

I don't agree, Hound, sorry. Kelvin needs to contribute more regularly, more consistently, but the level of improvement required, in terms of goals, assists, etc, is really high. O'Mahony is currently struggling with the system but, admittedly, getting better. I don't know enough about Marriott yet,...

Re: Summer 2025 Transfer Ratings

So, have Reading had a spectacular transfer window or not? Or do we need to wait for the season to be over before deciding? I think a balanced view https://thetilehurstend.sbnation.com/2025-26-analysis-opinion-reading-fc-royals/49954/unpacking-readings-summer-2025-transfer-window I think the articl...
