Re: MATCHWATCH : Leyton Orient (a)

Didn’t watch game as I was busy, so no comments on the game (crowbar and Norfolk posts a good read) but even with the loss Last 6 games W4 D1 L1 All 11 league games W6 D2 L3 That’s on the edge of the magic 2 pts a game that would see you pushing for promotion. Still time to improve and I simply can...

Re: Will Keane Confimred

Grabban didn't play wide so much as play deep. Watch the play off final again, his job was to try and get the ball between the Huddersfield midfield and defence and try and make space/find passes there. Transfermarkt has it as a mix of CF/RW/LW. (I'll actually admit - there may just be a bit of obs...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Leyton Orient (a)

Come on now. Two of his 3 goals for us were against Exeter under 18s in the pizza trophy. With Ballard, there at least looked to be a half decent footballer in there even if he couldn't hit a cow's arse with a banjo whilst with us and, to be fair to him, we were oxf*rd shit the early part of that s...

Re: Will Keane Confimred

There's some less savoury rumours about Martin - that said, it's a matter of record that he was signed by Stam and then Clement came in. Some of his performances under Clement were  Grabban didn't play wide so much as play deep. Watch the play off final again, his job was to try and get the b...

Hendo Wasn't Grabban suffering really badly with crohn's while he was with us?

Not sure but do recall that Chris Martin was suffering with something similar when he was with us (but only disclosed after he'd left)

Martin had ulcerative colitis and basically shat himself to sleep every night.

Re: Will Keane Confimred

WRT Grabban, we clearly asked him to do a role that was within his skillset and he did an excellent job at it. I think we played so much better with him on the pitch in that season. It's one of those where I wonder if I'm watching the same game as the people on here.

Re: Ex Royals (No not prince Andrew)

Looking back, that relegated team was really bad, wasn't it? McIntyre, Holmes, NGW, Lumley in goal, Fornah...most of these guys haven't had a successful career in L1 subsequently, let alone the Championship. Maybe Ince didn't do that badly.... :? Fornah came up a few months ago and in spite of him ...

Re: Confimred Mark O'Mahony

Can’t really think of much he did worthy of any comment beyond having an annoying surname. Sometimes these things work out, sometimes they don’t, and it’s not always related to the player’s ability. Pretty much. On this sort of thing, if it’s not working (or we’ve changed manager again because LOLz...

Re: Ex Royals (No not prince Andrew)

Why are the twitter twats so weirdly obsessed with Jayden Wareham's father? Very strange. I think it's because the story goes when Wareham joined Exeter, his Dad insisted he get the shirt number that was retired when the previous owner died young. Not a great look if true. It's a little bit more co...

Went midweek, late Summer 2023. All the pubs shut early. My mate bought a watermelon.

Re: Ex Royals (No not prince Andrew)

Wonder where he'll end up now. I imagine he'll struggle physically wherever he goes in League One (or lower), unless he's played in some specific roles - which most sides don't utilise. Probably left us at completely the wrong time for his career. Definitely. Him and Nelson Abbey. Both needed at le...

Re: Ex Royals (No not prince Andrew)

Caylan Vickers has had his loan to Barnsley cut short and returned to Brighton. Their fans are on the whole disappointed and feel after the first few weeks he was played out of position. Wonder where he'll end up now. I imagine he'll struggle physically wherever he goes in League One (or lower), un...

Re: Realistic January CF targets

MR. CYNICAL
Snowflake Royal I could maybe see us bidding similar for the right player who will come in as first choice, but with Marriott going so well, not really for a striker, and not more than £250k

So we're so skint/tight, we are struggling to compete with a league 2 club.

Yes.

Re: Rival Watch

Probably the best results considering Stevenage have games in hand still. Spoke too soon, Stockport got themselves a 96th minute winner. Table amended directly above. Will keep Reading 4 points off 6th whatever Bolton do later. With games in hand, we almost have the ability to go 6th place, not som...

Re: Savage in the hole (NSFW)

I do feel as though we ( fans, pundits, managers etc al) get far too hung up on whether a player is a 6 or an 8 or a 10. Why can’t each midfielder be all 3? I know that our best ever team played with 2 wingers, 2 strikers and a back 4 but within that system Harper and Sidwell did a bit of everythin...
