Re: Season 20/21

Gotta agree in part....totally needless and pointless insult of an erudite poster there Ian. But in all fairness, there’s a lot of it about. You might want to take a wee look at who got shirty first. And at least neither of us were following the other round the board to jump in with a dig at any op...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Watford (h) sponsored by Chris Armstrong

Oh dear! Always a worry when the manager resorts to a double negative. Quote from JLow's press conference: "We’re not going to say we’re not looking for depth, we’re very happy with the guys we have. If there are chances to improve our depth we’ll take a decision. We have to focus on the next ...

Re: Season 20/21

I’d agree, in his brief first team outings and with the U23 he looked perfectly competent. Saying some one is ‘League 1 standard’ is a meaningless sound bite. I reckon Paul is alluding to some kind of off the pitch issue, and I have no idea if that is accurate or not. I think Paul is alluding to be...

Re: Season 20/21

Decision to let Howe go is looking pretty questionable again. Between end of last season and our two RB injuries he could easily have amassed a decent number of appearances by Xmas. Howe is League One standard - would offer up more about him and players view, but wont be getting into that debate. H...

What is making the decision to change Howe’s job description now more questionable ?

Re: Season 20/21

Well, well, well. Who was I arguing over Holmes' height with? Doesn't look the supposed giant here does he. In fact, he looks an inch or so taller than the 6ft1 McIntyre and an inch or so shorter than the 6ft3 Joao.. I may have made up those heights but imma stick with it. If that is João to his ri...

Squad photo released: https://www.readingfc.co.uk/news/2020/september/2020-21---the-official-first-team-squad-photo Interestingly* no Smith or McNulty in the picture - which given the number of academy players in it would suggest they are outta here in the coming days. Also first sighting of our ne...

Re: Rumour - Rodrigo Riquelme

If he is going elsewhere so be it but as said, there must be an underlying reason why this deal hasn't gone through but the Gibson one did - must be cost. Perhaps there was an expectation of a large loan fee for him or an obligation to buy for X million that meant the EFL wouldn't sign it off. Ejar...

Re: Rumour - Rodrigo Riquelme

WestYorksRoyal But Gourlay added rocket fuel to our owners' impulses, when what they really need is sensible executives to rein them in (which it seems the EFL are doing for us now Howe has been sacked)

When did that happen ?

Re: Osho

It’s a bit daft to pretend any of us know whether Osho would come back. None of us know him, none of us know what options he has, whether he has burned his bridges here, what his priorities are, what advice he is getting, what we are offering him, whether he lives locally etc etc It might be he woul...

Re: Rumour - Rodrigo Riquelme

Yeah, I didn't say it was one in one out and just pointed out that wouldn't work as a system myself. The whole thing is about not spending beyond your means. So, assuming this is the hold up, we need to move sufficient wages off the book before we bring more in. What's a joke is how we run our fina...

Re: Osho

Did Osho play at RB at all in the academy? Tom Holmes did..... Fair enough. I didn't know Osho was a CB in academy. I honestly don't know who played where, all I know is Osho as a full back was impressive. Even ran up the wing non-stop and chucked several great crosses in. If he was being used as a...

Re: Rumour - Rodrigo Riquelme

Presumably the basis for requiring us to cut the squad further is our wage budget. We didn't actually lose that many high wage players given how far over our wage budget we were. Not to mention the fact that the last time the FL let us come out from under a soft embargo we immediately spunked about...

Re: Rumour - Rodrigo Riquelme

We’ve cut the squad dramatically, if they are forcing us to cut further it seems draconian when there is no actual basis for doing it.
If I was Dai I would simply loan the three or four players who are surplus to requirements to one of the other clubs in his group andproblem solved.....

Re: If you didn't support Reading, who would you have supported and why?

I’ve lived within spitt8ng distance of Watford and Southampton (The Dell) and watched them both a fair bit. Would probably have settled on one of them but it would certainly have been a ‘local’ club.

Anybody had a dislocated shoulder ? Do they just snap it back in;leave it for a week and your as good as new ?Yet some people need surgery.Did Moore ever get surgery done ?I have only ever dislocated a finger(volleyball, yeah I know),so I have no idea.A moment of extreme pain while they put it back,...
