Re: Richardson out

To be fair, the club didn't give Brogue a chance to break the news first.

Re: CONFIRMED: Leam Richardson

Does anyone know anything about his footballing style? What are we looking at here, big strong lads, difficult to beat? Fast paced, short passing? Direct, attacking play?

Re: The inevitable poll for the next Reading manager

Sutekh Bloody AI

Liam Fraser has an undefined knock to his undefined, he is expected to be undefined for an undefined period.

So that’s that clarified at last then.

I undefined my undefined once, and it was agony. I feel for the guy.

Re: The inevitable poll for the next Reading manager

A bit "out there" with this one, but last season, we played Burton at home and despite them not really having that much quality in their team, they played some really decent football. I know in the end we won comfortably, i thought they looked quite exciting. Looks like Mark Robinson was t...

Re: Hunts gone

That's a shame, I felt things were improving and it's hard to see us attracting someone who would provide more. I can't help but remember someone on here when Noel got the job, saying words to the effect of "this means it's the beginning of the end for Noel at reading", as it's inevitable ...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Cardiff City (a)

Hard to see us getting anything from this one. I just hope the fans can control their distemper and show encouragement, rather than booing and negative chanting. That said, I'm going to be senselessly optimistic and say 2-2. Take the lead unexpectedly early on, then back to 2-1 down just before half...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Exeter City (a)

Looks like a single goal between us and the relegation zone. It's getting tense! I still believe we're turning the corner though. That's a decent point.

Re: MATCHWATCH : Exeter City (a)

I'm still banking on Exeter to have all the chances and us to nick it 1-2 in the last second.

Is that seriously 6 in 6 for Marriott? That's a little obscene.

Re: Hunt out.

If there is going to be a change, I actually think Steve Bruce could be an option. Certainly don't expect Ainsworth despite the fact the media would obviously install him as favourite for the position if it was available. Think my favourite idea though would be Charlie's dad with maybe Ritchie movi...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Exeter City (a)

We've got a fragile run of avoiding defeat now, I just hope we can keep that run going and get some confidence and belief. I'm predicting us to concede early but then come back early in the second half. Potentially even grab a last second winner. I'm going 1-2 win for us.

Re: Hunt out.

I don't think RC would sack a manager. He seems to be positioning the club so that we can monetise our non-footballing assets to maintain a higher level of income. I think he's viewing the club purely as a financial asset, not a footballing asset. He's here to make the club profitable on its own (st...

Re: Hunt out.

Thing is, whilst we haven't 'turned a corner' in terms of performance, we are starting to grind out results. If we can just keep clinging on, confidence will come and I would expect that to drive better performances and I can steadily see us improving.

Re: MATCHWATCH : Mansfield Town (h)

We did actually create a couple of chances today, which does show some improvement. It's disappointing that we didn't convert many, but we probably created more opportunities than I've seen is create in any other game this season. It's frustrating how slow we attack though. Mansfield looked threaten...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Mansfield Town (h)

I really hope for a decent win. I recon a third good result in a row, unbeaten in three, would be really positive for confidence and could really start a good run.

Re: What was the last player that you were gutted that left/sold

I was actually quite gutted that Josh Laurent left us, i felt he was a really strong player and we stood a reasonable chance of keeping him. The same with Tom Ince and Adrian Marriappa too. Obviously gutted that we lost Olise and Richards, but they were right at the very start of their careers and h...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Stockport County (a)

Royal_jimmy Hunt has turned this team into one with such a soft underbelly. We were so much more solid last season, now we look like we'll concede under every attack.

To be fair, we did lose two championship-quality centre backs over the summer.

And lets not forget Bongani Khumalo and Joao Virginia. I also keep forgetting we took Glen Murray on loan as well.

Who was they guy who had the nickname "The Beast" who came on as a substitute in his first game (might have been the first game of the season?) and scored a thunderbolt?

Re: MATCHWATCH : Stockport County (a)

Hard to see anything but a resounding defeat here. Stockport beat us last year whilst barely breaking a canter and we rarely seem to do well if we travel further away than any London club. Its a badly timed game, because i feel like Hunt might be on the verge of turning things around our fragile sta...

Re: Players at Reading who you had completely forgotten about

Whilst its not strictly true that I had forgotten about him, i do wonder how many people would remember Eric Obinna Chukwunyelu. I think he once hit the bar with a header, away at Southampton in 05/06? John Halls was a strange one. Quality player, but he was never going to get in ahead of Murty that...
